300 SAUM Imp

I am not smart enough to run your tape measure lol. Took me a minute
Missing about half the whole numbers. Lol
Let us know when you try cci 250’s. I have a hunting rifle using BR2 currently and do run into some cold temps in Idaho.
I wasn’t exactly sure what I heard so talked with Alex about it.
What he said, made sense.. If the ignition/primer hesitated even the least little bit, the shots that sounded “odd” would have been way out of the group.
It was probably just in my head..

Fooling around with some rl16 and some 229s Roy made me this winter.

This is my 9 twist krieger with Alex's longer of the two reamers. I shot this same bullet at 204.5 and .100 shorter last 1k season in my 10 twist with the shorter reamer. I shot most of my matches in the narrow little jump window because that combo also has that small spot it shoots small. I probably will fool with this jam node for a bit and see where it winds up going.

@GlennK @tom @Alex Wheeler

when you have a fresh barrel and run your ladder at distance. looking for the area a bullet likes, does this usally stay the same as the barrel speeds up and you reduce the powder charge to stay there? do you re run the ladder test at distance once the barrel has change to see if the results?

edit. obviously you do what the target says, so i guess the question is...on average does the bullet like that same speed at round/shot 30 as 300?

I haven't tuned enough 30s to say, but the answer isn't 100% on 6s which I've been working on for hundreds of barrels. I would say more than 50% of the time the charge holds even though the velocity moves. It's wise to just send an occasional ladder downrange. I've even seen them tune up at neither the original velocity or charge. No way around it, gonna have to go outside and shoot them here and there IMO.

I have only done a few 30s as well. I do feel like I have to shoot more rounds to get the feel for them. They shoot well all over the place at various charges. They seem like they are forgiving. 6mm seem to be more sensitive, so when they go out it is easier to see.

Thanks guys, let the target tell you, got it

My kids keep asking where their giant sharpies have gone…..
