The words spoken by lapua40X are exactly my views, but more important my heart goes out to the families of the victims. dooley

Count me out !! I live near there and these people do not need our money,if you want to send a prayer, fine. These are the very rich who gave their neighborhood the nickname "the gold coast". Give a donation to the NRA in their names. The shooters mother was a proud member.AND BUY A SAFE.

Of Course, I'm In!!!!

Let us know when and how to get the money thing done. jonbearman Thanks for thinking of this!!

I don't care how rich the community is, thats not the reason to do this.

Savage99 posted earlier that the Mother (actual owner of the guns) did not secure them. Has it been reported as fact that the guns were not locked away in a safe of some kind but were easily accessible? ? ? I have been beating the drum of having gun safes for quite a few years. Anyone who can afford a Remington 700 with a Leupold scope on it to carry in the deer woods can afford a safe to keep it in. Just my 2 cents. Again, has anyone heard a news report relative to the status of the way the guns were being stored? ?

Found this propaganda on line.
I have been saved by my gun so i know better.

This is a stupid test. The shooter knew exactly which of the students had the gun, so he shot at him immediately. It doesn't work that way in real life.

Dianne and her slanted view to scare people into thinking that they couldnt possibly protect themselve's in any situation. What do you do if an intruder gets into your home, call police when the phone is in the kitchen,no,you rack your 12 gage and fight for your life.It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by six.I choose self preservation and the test is completly bogus.

PS: Do you remember when Jane Fonda got caught going into the beverly hills gunclub with Ted Turner and the reporter asked what she was doing there being she is so against guns and I quote: " Guns are for people like us not for people like you".

Keep in mind that the president gets to put 2 more chronies into the supreme court this year.Who do you think he will put in that seat, someone who will follow the constitution or someone that will follow his agenda to rechallenge the 2nd amendment. My bet is we will see more of the same.

If the motive is to buy goodwill for shooters then lets reconsider.
It won't be very difficult for anyone to see through it. Now is not the time to come at them about guns. Lets respect their grief.

My prayers go out to them. As parent and spouse I feel for their loss. Money will not diminish or change anything they may be thinking about guns as a result of the tragedy they are going through.

It is not appropriate to send a 'gift' of money from a community of gun owners. Besides, we will be relating the evil to guns and it will make us look worse not better. To help them financially go through a different channel not related to guns in any way.

Joining & donating to the NRA would be a good way to honor the mother and to promote the rights of gun owners.

If you want to give some meaning to what has happened make sure, double sure, that your guns never get in the wrong hands, ever.

Respectfully, Mike

I spoke with my Granddaughter on the phone last evening. This is a Sunday evening ritual for us. She told me that she was not going to school this coming Friday and proceeded to tell me her reason. There is a rumor circulating that a student at her school intends to carry out a mass shooting there. No one has come forward with evidence as to the identity of the psycho. Many of the students feel they know who it is. What in the world has become of this society? This is taking place in the touchy, feel good, Progressive, city of Madison, WI. I grew up on a rural farm here in WI. Guns were a part of life. Nearly every household had them. Access to guns was as easy as grabbing one from the closet, or garage, or barn, or wherever. In high school, we often had guns in our vehicle so we could take part in a small game hunt after school. I remember on our grade school spring "picnic" to a County Park, some of us boys would bring hatchets and hunt snakes. I carried a pocket knife every day of my life since like 5 years old. Possessing a butter knife in school now will get a kid expelled. The thought never entered our minds to stab or shoot someone. Did we get in fist fights and bloody or get bloodied a nose? Hell yes. I think it is high time the liberal thinkers took some responsibility in what is going on. Gone is God, punishment, right and wrong, personal responsibility - on and on. It has been replaced by don't judge anyone regardless of their actions. I'm sorry to interject abortion into this forum, but what must God think of a society that condones it as a method of birth control? When firearms are blamed for all of our Nation's woes, we, the older generation had better articulate how things were before this Country went "Mad".
