We will be seeing much mis-information in the coming days/weeks/months. I just heard a FOX News reporter describe the AR15 as "the most powerful gun in the country". True, it's formidable, but, "the most powerful"? Much too much false information and ignorance will be dispensed by the media in the near future about guns,,,,,, most who know nothing about firearms. I don't know as we have much of a chance, this time,,,,, as all seems to be ruled by emotion instead of fact and common sense. Remember,,,,,"Never let a crisis go to waste".

The courts have ruled that the "Thou shalt not kill" signs must be removed. I went to Va Tech when we could have loaded rifles in our rooms and there were no locks on campus. No one was shot. A nut would not have lasted very long. We were programed by the Bible. Now violent video games, which the courts have ruled freedom of speech, unlike the Bible. They outlawed prayer, at least until the absence of prayer resulted in prayer anyway because of the murders.

There is little to no regard for human life. I can't begin to address all the factors behind that, but it is sad. If one could add up the numbers on all the gang related deaths in this country, the CN. shooting would pale in comparison. So terribly sad it has come to this.

As a vocational school teacher from 1991-1996, I can tell you that there were at least 2-3 bomb threats or shooting threats phoned in to my school every year. These incidents are nothing new...but now the media cannot wait to fan the flame and create panic for ratings, and the pundits can't wait to make knee-jerk comments to take political advantage of these situations.

These precious little children were viciously murdered by a vile psychopath who was hidden away for years and protected by his long suffering mother. A mother who had to known for years that she was tickling the fuse of a land mine. The full realization of her motherly instincts resulted in her violent death along with that of 20 children and 6 more adults and all in the most gruesome manner imaginable. Send them money? To me that is insane in and of itself. These people were all very, very wealthy. They need money like we need oxygen. My suggestion is to send them prayers. And pray that our country will figure out a way to escape the liberal legal system that will not act against these evil defectives because of a perceived stigma of mental illness.

timeout: The society you and I grew up in no longer exists. If we were to be honest with ourselves, look at the clear reasons for many of those changes. We had rifles to hunt with, and did just that. At that time, there was no AR-15. Soon after they became available, the use of military fatigues became popular. Then came the gun shows displaying magazines capable of holding an untold number of rounds. You can buy virtually anything "military" from a surplus store. Tactical gear became popular. Anyone can purchase it. With the big money to be made in this industry, we not only make it available to anyone, but also make it so appealing and macho. Our children follow the current trends, just as you and I did with our bolt action rifles. Are the children of KKK members mentally unstable due to being raised in a family setting that promoted hate? Hardly. I remember gangs when they used baseball bats, chains, stickball bats and fists. Handguns were readily available, as were long guns. They weren't very popular due to having to include a bit of marksmanship. At the time, you did not see gun magazines promoting tactical gear, high cap magazines, tactical training. We are so eager to blame mental illness as the contributing factor. Why? Because that is what we want people to believe. We promote the use of guns, no matter the type, yet are so eager to blame the media, liberals and mental illness when they are used to kill innocent people. With many of the deceased children being laid to rest today, now is the time to take a deep breath, step back, hug your children and express your love for them, assure them there is nothing as safe as being wrapped in a fathers arms, and pray for the surviving family members of those slain innocent children.

I do not disagree with you (although I would be critical of the media, as well as the entertainment industry), but scratching my head, what do we do to change this? There is so much misinformation out there, on all sides...
here is a factual question, asked from ignorance, did the original '90s assault weapons ban forbid the ownership and use of AR platform rifles such as are now commonly used in High Power competition?

If you carry,you know how to wear your pistol. These clowns were all dressed up in way oversized tee's guaranteed to block access. You may have bought several holsters to be sure and comfortable.I have,but, that 3speedholster might get a tryout.

After all this going on it has made me purchase a safe. Should have not put it off till now. I would always look and say "let me check them out here or there" for a better price, but after this I just purchased one. If you were procrastinating like me "just go buy one and be done with it".

The 94 AW ban prevented the manufacture of any more weapons with flash suppressors, collapsable stocks and high cap mags and bayonet lugs. Only in a couple of states did it ban transfer, sale, possesion etc IIRC. Now Sweinstein's bill will include transfer, sale and possesion!!! There were many so called loopholes in the 94 Ban such as replacing flash suppressors with muzzle brakes to get kind of the same look and fixed position stocks to appear to be collapsable etc.

When the new set of laws and bans being proposed don't work as 'they' thought they would I will bet everything I own none will be repealed, just more and more added on!!!! Protect us from ourselves concerning firearms, not protect us from the society we have given up in the way of freedom of speach(my stepdaughter once said, "My teacher says I can say what I want because I have an opinion too"), banning Christian practices, diciplining our children and their 'rights' against spanking etc etc etc!!!

We do not own assault weapons,they are classified by the government as sporters and only sporters. Do I need hi cap mags,well no.I have them and rarely use them as at the bench they are cumbersome. I do have the right to own them,the only reason I have them is for gravel pit competitions we used to have. Our all knowing government allowed this in the first place. I love shooting targets with my ar-15.I use it for woodchucking and target shooting only.They are the most ergonomical guns on the market and fun to shoot.Should we have to give up a bunch of guns just to appease the minority who feel they are evil,I say no.Should we give up our alcohol to halt drunk drivers,I say yes. It seems everytime there is a horrible incident as this we ignore the facts and warning signs.I am sure when the dust settles we can finally say"we the sheeple of the socialist states of america will do what you tell us to do.Freedom is lost forever and the greatest country in the world will be governed by the rogue nations that are promoting mass genocide of their unarmed slaves of warlords. My hope is we try to get through this and learn that there are warning signs to act on such as timeout cited in wisconsin,the police should do there job and interview enough children in that school to find who made the threat.It wont happen because the aclu will step in and say we are violating their civil rights.We need checks and balancing of these imminent threats and act on them.I will say I prayed for these children and their familys and thats all I can do for the moment.

With all the negativity I am recieving for my non malicious intent and I can assure you that I am not insane and love children,I take the utmost exception that someone would make such a generalization that it is a terrible idea to set up a scholarship fund for the survivors is unacceptable to me. I agree with a lot said through the 6 pages already posted.BUT we as members have to regain our control here.There is no idea to what this will do to our 2nd amendment,but we know what we can do to help out with those who lost some one.I'd rather read or post on this. ( this is just my opinion )

Now we all know that this is just another reason to worry,but what can we dur little part of the world doesn't care for itself,it would rather care for some other country like it has done for many years.To this is why we as the ( people who live her in this little part of the world ) can help.Know I have watched many guys such as my dad get bad treatment from ( being one who HAD to help ) another counrty.Again its our time to go out and help not the goverments time,we all know to what they want and its not helping the people ( but themselfs ) You see we can rant talk or what ever it is we think is a cure,but the fact is to just being able to help one another out.

Now I have prayed and will pray again.So lets focus on this or to what we as good guys and gals can do for one another.One last thing to offer,today our schools put out uniforms to watch the doors of our shcools.I think this was a great idea,but rather see plain-cloths than a uniform standing around or walking the halls.Its little things like this that will help in many ways,two come to mind ( One a job ) ( Two safety for the kids. )
