Cars have ignition locks.

Lock up your guns.

The mother of the killer did not secure her guns.

The mother of the killer did not report that he was mentally ill.

The gun control contingent will want to talk about ALL the mass shootings. Not just the last one which MIGHT have been prevented if the mother had done what has been mentioned.
My point is that ALL the shootings don't equal ONE week of drunk driving fatalities. More lives can be saved by controlling drunk drivers instead of guns.

BTW, good point about cell phones, especially texting.

My heart aches for the lost children and their families, also for the children who survived but must return to that school. But the same thing recently happened in China, by the perpetrator using a machete. Anti-gun legislation is not the answer. If you don't belong to the NRA you should join now, or one day we will wake up and our firearms ownership rights will be gone forever. We (The NRA) will need all the help and membership possible for the upcoming battle.

I brought up the NRA because I have heard the news media talking about the evil guns all day. The liberals are using this to to promote an anti-gun agenda. In the past two years there have been more school children murdered in China with edged weapons than have been killed in the U.S. Don't make off the wall comments, check the facts JRS.

The NRA already has issued condolence's. Personal responsibilty is dead and politically correctness is way more important and that doesnt even work. If one person had a ccw and worked in the school, maybe just maybe things would be different. My heart will always be with the children and adults who lost their live's so needlessly.

If the 12000 members would all donate 10.00 to the school as a scholership fund or whatever,it would help them to understand we care too.I am up for it.

It was NOT a machete. It was a chefs cleaver. None of the 23 children are dead. This really isn't the time to preach the NRA, but rather to show some compassion and feeling for the parents, brothers and sisters of these young children. Personally, I would like to see the NRA use some of the money I send to them to make a public statement of compassion for these deceased young children and their loved ones. The NRA can count their millions of dollars some other day.

Something else that needs to be said:
The statements about autism are purely speculation. For those who do not understand what autism is, it is NOT a mental disorder. We can blame the actions of the killer on whatever we want to. Long before the violent video games were available, we had violent movies on every channel on a TV. The only difference between then and now is the addition of color and blood. Remember the old James Cagney movies? The only person who can answer the question "why?" is dead.

i don't believe anybody should be bringing the NRA into this, they are not the cause! ask your state and federal representatives what they have done to promote "MENTAL HEALTH" awareness in your community following any of these heinous events that have happened over the years! first thing they go for is "gun control" and don't do anything that will actually help! it's not the guns but the people weilding the guns!
why has the states and federal agencies turned so many people away that needed or requested help for MENTAL PROBLEMS? lack of funds? you tell me!

will your firearms be taken away, ask someone like obama what's on his mind!

Lets see if we can get paul to setup a fund in a bank directly to send your money too. Now who knows him the best?If he decline's them maybe we could start a fund through lapua or eley or kevin thomas of lapua. These are just idea's I am kicking around.

I am all in favor of a fund for support. Just make sure there is some appropriate name that the donations are from. I would think a donation from the "Accurate shooter" forum may not be accepted in the spirit it is intended.

Definately let us know where to send donations.
