I fire form, then I turn. So to start I just expand to 7mm, then 30 cal, then FL size to make a false shoulder. I only do a false shoulder if I am ff in a competition. If I am FF just to FF, then I just expand to 7mm and leave the bullet long to jam the bullet for a headspace. You can turn first but anytime you turn prior to shooting any brass in any chamber, the brass will flow and create thick and thin spots in unpredicted places. Yes it can work, but turning after FF pushes and flows that brass to where it is going to naturally go, then you can turn and have the brass last longer and basically eliminate any donut if you ID and OD turn for the life of the brass.

I'm not sure if this is a good barrel or reloading process, but I went through 86 rounds in one day, and my ES was 15, SD 3.64.

Never had that good numbers.
Rifle was shooting great! 57.6gr N555 180gr hybrid

Do you use a different barrel to FF when you turn after FF?

Granted , this is not the same cartridge but maybe similar enough that some folks will find it interesting or helpful when it comes to the FCP . Here are some results of a 7-6.5 PRCW pressure test that was done by Frank at Bartlien with the help of the fellas at Hornady...

I’ve got some Reloder 17 I’m thinking of using for fire forming. Anybody tried any R17 in the FCP?
52 2888
51 2850
50 2779
49 2756
48 2700

I used 50.2 in a old used 30 inch brux re chambered for fire forming, this produced 2810 avg over strings of 30 single digit SDs. Go slowly with RL 17 and it is okay, if you push it it will go from mild to wild quickly. Accuracy was not acceptable for match use, but the load produced enough pressure to form the case.

Go slowly with RL 17
I would not be using this in the heat of summer in Competition. Actually I would not be using
it at all when there are many fine and accurate powders for this round. Like the N555 that shoots incredibly well. ( I understand your only fireforming )

Glad to see some life to this thread. I don’t have FB and feel like I’m missing out on the 7FCP news and updates.

I can hardly wait to get mine finished.

How did you ever get a response from CERUS...??
Just gave up on them {as a number off other folks that I know and some former customers} due lack of any response to email inquiry. Even Bryan Blake said that he was difficult to deal with... {:~/
I began to think that that the site had become a Zombie due to a C-19 death.. or some sort of personal disaster.
Went for a McMillan Kestros ZR which they were more than happy to build for me and deliver within 4 months...
As much as I would love to own one of the beautiful stocks that come from CERUS and even be willing to wait a year {or more} for delivery and bare the cost {about 2-3 times the cost of the ZR} the inability to get any response, Yes/No from them just put me off!

I actually saw an ad here in the classifieds with one for sale from Will McClosky that someone ordered but didn’t take. It wasn’t exactly what I wanted but is a really nice looking stock so I grabbed it within 20 minutes of being posted. Just luck I guess. This is my 2nd Cerus stock and hope it’s as good as the first one.
