300 SAUM Imp

I want to thank all that have contributed to this thread. I finally got my dies about a month ago, and have done a little load testing. I just have a 100 yard range to work up loads, so I will post some results after I take it to a match. So far, all of the information on this thread has been the same as my results regarding charge/powder and Bullets. I’m using Norma brass so I have pressured out slightly lower than the ADG, but only slightly. This is on an f class rifle that I hope to shoot in a match the end of the month.

Pretty amazing for an 8lb. rifle from a bipod. It was not a nice morning to shoot. I didnt shoot yesterday because it was blowing, today was worse. Next to my 7saum there really was not a noticeable difference in windage despite the large difference in bc. We see that so often, the bc numbers dont really do that great of a job predicting windage.

I didn't completely read through all of the this so my apologizes if this has already been mentioned but what are you guys using for dies? Alex do you have dies already made up for this or???

I've been wanting to build a short mag 30 with no more than a 22in barrel and was leaning 300WSM but I'm liking the sounds of this 300SAUM Imp but I'm curious about the die situation.

Also, with getting good quality brass being no particular easy task, I have 200pcs of new ADG 6.5SAUM brass I could maybe neck up and use. Thoughts?? I know the headstamp would obviously be wrong but I already have it.

Jeff Locke put his 300 saum imp to good use at the NBRSA nats.
Combined 600/1000yd overall Match Champion, 1st HG score agg. 600 yd, 1st 2 gun score agg. 600yd, 1st HG group agg. 1000yd, 1st HG small group 1000yd. Heres a picture of his small group at 1k, 3.8". Very impressive stuff!View attachment 1289478
That’s awesome shootin
I don’t know much about benchrest targets, how big is that x ring?

Are you all mostly shooting the 215's in these things or has anyone played around with the little brother version 200.20X? They seem to be easier to get than the 215's at the moment.

I'm curious to know if there's gonna be a clicker problem like the PRC' s are having with saami dimensional reamers.
