What’s with the hate for 6.5CM in some circles?

So is it a service medal? The reason I ask is we had one like it in the USMC ,it was a marksman medal. Anyways congratsulations
Director of Civilian Marksmanship (then), Civilian Marksmanship program. As a Civilian award, it is not authorized to be worn on a US Military uniform. You can apply for authorization to wear it inLieu of the same award from the Service you’re in, the top bar is different from the US Army version and may differ from other services awards in other ways.
And thanks.

6.5 needmore...or 6.5 skinnyjeans

I always wear my skinny jeans, nose ring and short t-shirt that barely covers my nipples when I shoot the mighty 6.5 Creedmoor. As I carry the gun to the line I walk like I'm chewing a toffee with my arsehole. And when I let those little 140 grain wind ninjas loose on an unsuspecting atmosphere the groupies mob the firing line. It's damn sexy man. :)

A few reasons (not exhaustive) that 6.5 and 6mm creedmoor became popular are as follows:
1. fit better in short-action mags when using high BC bullers
2. new calibers have default twists suitable for high BC bullets (unlike older cartridges)
3. availability of factory match grade ammo loaded with high BC bullets

Why do all the guys that have hondas “hate” harleys? Why do the guys with red tractors hate green ones? Ford, chevy... if you really, really want an argument snomobile guys get really wound up too.
It really is nothing new, just the new 270 vs 3006 debate. The more things chamge the more they stay the same.
I want an argumemt over terminal performance of brands of bullets, that would be more interesting than this caliber bs that has gone on for generations.
I always got a kick out of the guys arguing snowmobiles. I would chime in, and explain this to them. I got into them in the early 70’s. Every place was offering sleds at that time. Including Penny’s and Sears. I would tell them that there were possibly 100 different brands. However only 4 survived. If they were putting out a bad product, they wouldn’t be around either.

No, though you can earn leg points in the service. It is an CMP (old DCM) award that is earned by finishing in the top percentage of competitions over a period of time shooting service rifle. I won't attempt to explain it in a post here.

So you’re saying I dredged up the bad penny?

I will say an FN FAL is perfect as it is, no modification needed whatsoever. 308 sledgehammer. The all time perfected battle rifle.
I carried one for 9 awesome years and you couldn’t have paid me 50K to trade it for an M16
Or an M-14?

That is easy. Over Hyped! Plenty of 6.5mm cartridges before it that are just as good or better! Oh I almost forget proprietary cartridge which sucks over all! Shortest response to a thread ever for me.

P.S. See 6.5x57, 6.5x55, .260 Rem for starters. Look at the dates they were introduced and compare that to 6.5 CM. Now look at the lack of gun rags pushing tose over the last 100 years compared to the HOrnady CM and other Hornady Cartridges the last 15 years!
