I have an old neighbor that stops by every once in a while, as he and his wife did this afternoon. Most time they stop by for show and tell of his or her's latest range toy. This afternoon was no different. He was very happy to show me his new RPR in 6mm Creedmoor, very nice rifle! Ruger is really stepping up their game with the new RPRs.
Anyway, they had just returned from the range and since he does not reload anymore, he gave me a once fired box of Nosler 6mm Creedmoor brass. I thought, that is very generous, until his wife pulled out 2 boxes of Hornady 6mm ARC ammo and also handed it to me. She went on to tell me how it was bought by mistake and could not be returned. Having no use for the ammo, they knew I have a 6mm ARC and could use it. Of course, I excepted the ammo, but when I pulled my wallet out to reimburse them for their cost, I was told to put it away.
This is not the first time this family has shown great generosity to myself and my family. They are truly wonderful people with big hearts.
I will be retiring from the Marine Corps next week and returning to my hometown in Ohio. These are the kind of people I will miss once I am gone! Then again, it's only a 9-hour drive!!!
God bless selfless people!
