USPS Delivery Issues and Delays

Our small PO is down to one employee again, apparently Ms Dreadlocks ( the most recent hew-hire) couldn't handle the pressure of standing at a desk 40 hours a week, so its down to the same older gal, working all by herself. Yesterday I had to wait in line for 40 minutes just to get some medium and large flat rate boxes because the homeless population kept taking them out of the lobby to use to build shelters. Now I am fearful my stuff wont make it to its destination
FYI you can order Priority Mail boxes and supplies through their website and have it delivered to you for free

USPS was the reason I made my UPS account 10 years ago… not even a heavy shipper but it’s nice to fire up the printer, rip off a label, drop it off and it ACTUALLY GETS THERE IN A SEMBLANCE OF THE PROMISED TIME….

Gentleman on this forum sent me a scope priority mail… 4 weeks… it took 4 weeks. I knew as soon as he sent it but I was in no hurry and once it was obvious it was going to take a minute he assured me he‘d make it right if there was an issue.

Letters they still do a good job on. Packages, I won’t use them.

Waiting here in Florida for something from a member here.
He mailed (USPS, w/tracking) on Jan 28th from Wisconsin - it took a vacation in San Jose, CA. for a number of days - then on to Atlanta, where it has been for the past 4 days.
Atlanta is the dead letter office. Items that can’t be delivered are sent there.

The last couple PMOs I sent for things I've bought on here have taken anywhere from 8-10 days to get to their destination and these were sent PRIORITY. So much for 2 day delivery.

mailed a flat rate box jan 27 from denver to indy. been in transit from indy to next place for 11 days. did a search, and came back its in-route and resolved.
filed a lost package today, and a insurance claim for the $100 insurance.
did you know that you cant get your money back for shipping if they dont deliver it?? the lady said there is no guarantee of delivery. after i was on hold for 45 minutes, but she was nice. and to make a claim on the insurance, you have to show receipt of shipping, and a receipt of value of what's in the box. then cross your fingers!!!!!!!
I am in the same predicament. Found a couple of news reports from Indy that the new USPS terminal in Indy was a goat dance (My words).

I have had packages parked in Indy for 2 weeks. Looks like they are now at the local post office. Hope they don't go back.......

after being in limbo transit to the next stop for 12 days, got good news today, it arrived again. ??????
I filed a search form and a insurance claim, i'm hoping they found it. we'll see where it is tomorrow, it only has to go another 20 miles. i didnt know indy had a new terminal, maybe the same company that built it built the denver airport baggage system???? I know, low blow but I couldn't help it. HA

The Kansas City Kansas terminal is a black hole.

Had packages lost for weeks there twice now.

In the future, I'm refusing to buy anything shipped USPS and letting the vendors know so.

USPS jobs USED to be highly sought after.
Apparently, they can not find competent people who are interested in working for whatever salary they are paying any longer.

Welcome to the new US.

For what it’s worth….

I filed a missing package claim and after 2 weeks, they delivered my parts the next day. They even called to tell me.

I just posted a thread about this crap
The Post Office has gone on without having to answer for anything too long
Looking for a class action for repeated damage to packages with missing items, gun parts.
Anyone know an Attorney that might handle such a thing
If we find one, anyone want to back up a class action.
They just lost 4 triggers in one box this week
Left a cute little "Ooopsies, sorry bout that" note inside the damaged box
"

Y'all note that the USPS has been trying to bust the two Unions since Reagan. They got the long haul guys.
Two years ago they did two things:
1. stopped drug screening new applicants.
2. stopped replacing full time Union employees. The new hires get 28 hours a week, since at 30 they are
considered full time and get benefits and retirement. That's why you see a new delivery person almost
every day.

USPS issues??? You got NOTHING on me!!
Sent a big box to Minnesota. From Nor Cal to the SF shipping hub. From SF to Minneapolis then back to SF then back to Minneapolis then back to SF then back to Minneapolis then back to SF, and NO I don't studder!!!
Finally got wind of what was going on and went to out Rural PO and one click from the Post Master and someone went and found the box and kicked it off the belt. Got delivered in a couple of days. Beat that!! Never have had anything lost in transit. Have had a few things marked as DELIVERED but wern't. Got that squared away pretty fast. Have had a few say shipped and never got here so I wonder about that cause they got replaced with NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!

Wonder how many DEI promoted people are still in the system; it is certainly not just the grunt workers at fault here.
