USPS Delivery Woes -- Tracking History

First thing this morning, headed to our rural PO. Good way to start off your week??
The Post Master (real good young guy) looked at the tracking and kept saying HUH???
Said he would contact San Francisco and see if they can get their hands on it.
Sounds like "Ground Hog Day all over again".
Never did reply to my question about me getting "frequent flyer miles" or not.
No I'am not pissed, just wondering how it could make it to MN TWICE and back to SF and nobody smart enough to catch it. Maybe stuck on a belt going round and around and around and around...... FFM are racking up.

Here's a small jump for me in the wrong direction on my package USPS

No wonder the mail system is broke.

likely does not have a barcoded address label. Obviously got on a wrong plane. Barcodes help a lot. I always print out a barcoded label. that said, barcodes don't guarantee it won't go the wrong way.

At least it keeps moving. When it stops one place for 2 weeks that is worrying.

Here's what happen to me: I bought a $2,000.00 Scope from a private individual in Pennsylvanian. To make a long story short it went from East coast to West coast back and forth for 6 months! Longer in the system higher possibility of Damage.

Reason: Bar Code placement on the conveyor belt. The package had a previous Bar Code on it. It never was delivered back to sender. Finally made it to me undamaged! Make sure that all previous Bar Codes have been blacked out with marker pen.

Best of luck getting it delivered!

My bills are coming in just a day or 2 before due date, or even after. This month I could not use my credit card for over a week- had to do a payment on-line. I always paid the monthly balance and NEVER had as much as a late charge. The on-line status shows they still did not get original payment. The USPS cost me a money and I am not happy. Hate to do it but I guess we are being forced into setting up automatic payments direct from bank.
Back in 2014 I sold a Bat LV on here, waited for payment for 2 weeks and it never came. The buyer reluctantly sent another payment by certified, which I got. Almost 2 years later I get a manilla envelope from the USPS and inside was an mutilated envelope smeared with grease with a check inside.

If it gets sorted wrong it takes a trip else where ..
Zip, state, city is the method.
If it's addressed in a way that makes the city first to see or the state resembles another its going on a trip.

My package from Wilson came straight to me .... I was surprised.
Priority box.... Took 4 days !

We've got a great rural PO, and I know everyone there. Had one item (purchased from member here) ship from local distribution center to a town about 24mi SW of where I live. Then back to distribution center and across the border to Nampa, ID and back to distribution center, then out to another town 45min west of here. I stopped at PO and asked postmaster if he could put a trace on tracking #. Pacakge finally made it my PO and mailbox next day. Address was right, no extra barcodes, postmaster told me it ended up in the wrong bin at distribution center 3 times. Local distribution center is 20mins from my house.

I have a few things to sell but waiting for things to catch up. I don't want someone to think I didn't ship it being reasonably new to the forum.

Boxed up a bunch of rifle brass, Small Flat Rate Box, Priority Mail, put the "proper amount of postage" on it and dropped it in the mail box at the BIG PO on the way out of town early one morning. It was going to Oregon.
Couple of days later, it was back in MY mail box. (??)
Grabbed it and headed to our rural PO.
"She" said, not enough postage on it. (????) BETTER LOOK AGAIN!!
THEN, it was mentioned that anything over a certain weight had to go thru "the machine" and be coded. (from the PO manual that "I" read every day????)
After her double take about the " wrong amount of postage" and there being a couple of other folks standing at the counter, she said "I'll take care of it".
Got a tracking # in my mail box the next day.
The buyer got the brass a couple of days later. Still didn't like the idea of ME looking like a shady seller because of the mix up from the PO!!

The Pardini showed up at the postal depot in Midland TX this morning, no record of it anywhere for 1,300 miles, I can remember my Grandfather getting a couple hundred day old chicks every spring in the mail years ago, not this day in age.

I'm now paying my bills electronically except for my house insurance that I paid for, by credit card, over the phone, yesterday. It's due today, have no idea when or if I'll actually receive my bill but three of my last bills came in two weeks after they were due, fortunately all the late X-mas cards I received tipped me off to get them paid on time. Hope we don't loose power or worse yet, my computer takes a dump! :)
