USPS Delivery Issues and Delays

after being in limbo transit to the next stop for 12 days, got good news today, it arrived again. ??????
I filed a search form and a insurance claim, i'm hoping they found it. we'll see where it is tomorrow, it only has to go another 20 miles. i didnt know indy had a new terminal, maybe the same company that built it built the denver airport baggage system???? I know, low blow but I couldn't help it. HA
so today the box was delivered, so doing the search request must have worked. at least something did.
jan 27 to feb 14, priority for sure!

I ordered dog food from Chewy yesterday at 11:30am. Got notice it will be delivered today by 11:00 am thru FedEx. It`s coming from central PA to central DE. If I get mail from relatives in PA, close to same location it takes 6-8 days. Surely something is broken.

I was mailed a check January 28th priority mail from Indiana. Tracking said it left Des Moines 125 miles away February 3rd and was enroute to the next stop, probably Cedar Rapids. Went to PO yesterday and they were checking into it.

Shipped January 27 has been stuck in Usps possession for 3 weeks now

We can't let this month's newsletter go by without mentioning the shipping delays that the entire country has been dealing with courtesy of the United States Postal Service. It's our understanding that USPS has changed the way "non-machineable" packages are routed through their network on the way to their final destinations. Surprisingly (or maybe not), their hubs were not prepared to deal with these changes. The result has been normal 2-5 day delivery times turning into 2-3 weeks. We've seen delays like these a few times over the past 15 years of business, and they've always been able to course correct. As they say, this too shall pass, I am confident things will get back to normal in the coming weeks or months. Unfortunately that's no help to us right now. We are looking at other shipping options in addition to UPS.

I'm curious why you think things with the USPS will improve? The Director of the USPS is the same individual that was appointed by Trump near the end of his first term and has continued in the same position. He is the one who had many automated sorting machines destroyed just prior to the 2020 presidential election to slow down mail processing. The USPS has improved somewhat since then, but not greatly. With the current government downsizing, it would only follow that the mail service cannot improve, but will become much worse with fewer people.

I never said it would improve.
I simply passed on the article.

If'n it makes ya feel any better, i was talkin with Pat on the phone the other day and listened to him "Tune Up" a shipper about shitty service.
He honestly cares.

I was mailed a package on the 10th with a promised delivery date of the 13th using priority mail.

It arrived on the 17th, the box broken open from mishandling.....but at least it arrived and they didn't screw up the projectiles........thank god!! I haven't spoke to anyone who has had a positive experience with USPS lately.

I’m thinking when it takes over 2 weeks to get a letter 70 miles the usps has a big problem. After paying premiums to State Farm continuously for over 50 years, they cancelled my insurance last month for nonpayment. As bad as I hate to, I’m going to switch everything to online bill payments. I’m also going to explore other insurance options.

USPS: across the nation from WA in 3 days. Across town, 5-7 days? Its all about routing.
^^^^^^^
I live in a town of about 22,000. We use to have an intown drop slot and an out of town drop slot. Now it's just out of town. All mail goes from here to the Twin Cities then to Rochester and finally back here, a distance of approximately 250 miles total and as stated above 5-7 days.
