open rests and tr bipods are both allowed adjustable feet

I'm not seeing a discrepancy. Are you referring to some rulebook other than USA?

I think we're missing each other.

I was pointing out what seemed a contradiction to me, that the board itself was not permitted to be levelled with feet, but the front rest was.

The point being one is advantaged by a level base, the other not.

Let me be clear - I've no problem with the rules as they are, just pointing out what I perceive to be illogical inconsistencies.

Not that I care either - when I get there I'll compete as per the rules.

It's a great sport.

To me it is quite a paradox that there is little discourse concerning a highely engineered "bipod" ( if you can still consider these sophisticated, manipulated mechanisms as such) which cost more than many good scopes or rifles, yet folks get worked up about a cheap piece of carpet that it rides upon. The rules are what they are and people will always complain about them and exploit them as much as possible, but follow them and it becomes an equitable opportunity for all. But I shoot using a homemade bipod, so what can I say!

I’m sorry if anyone took my posts as a personal dig. For some reason the topic has changed to bashing joypod feet not addressing the real issue. I have no personal connection to the joypod. I have met seb in person and he is a great guy that deserves praise for innovation and his input into the sport. He beat me comfortably when i shot against him and if I had those bipod feet he still would have beaten me. I have used a joypod with the old and new feet. I now no longer own it and shoot off a harris. However these feet were cleared for use from what I understand prior to being used. If that’s not trying to be transparent then I don’t know what is. Compared to the thin blade style feet I don’t think there will be any increased tracking at all. I have heard people complain about the blade style feet here as well as they are thin and cut deep grooves in any soft surface under long strings of shots- even on firm carpet. Again it comes down to the surface on top of the mat.

Back to my previous post, I still think the rule change is too ambiguous and leaves things open to interpretation. I honestly think that it could be solved by making it even more black and white. It levels everything off for all shooters on the line what they shoot off.

As far as I know everyone has long ago adjusted their gear after carpetgate and moved on.
