Most Accurate Rimfire Under $900

Another vote for the Annie 64, good triggers, accurate, decent wood, and they hold their value. Second choice would be a CZ and put a Lilja barrel on it.
900.00? Gun(CZ) plus barrel plus installation fee. Doubt it makes under 900.00. Annie's 64, now that would be a good choice.

Just a heads up, Lilja sells their drop in for a 455 CZ for $440, rifle can be had for around $400. You're under $900 with a custom barrel.
I've been tempted to go this route but prefer the 452s and 453s with fixed barrels.

Barrel 440.00 tax 26.40 shipping and insurance 25.00, rifle 400.00 tax 24.00.....total 915.00 Sorry sonny your in custom class...lol. Merry Christmas buddy, looking forward to seeing your match schedule.

:D You too. Good shooting! And hey, I'm in Delaware, no sale tax. :p:)

For the money a CZ 455 Varmint is the way to go. Around $450. I have 2 455 varmints, with shoot great. I have shot 1" groups at 150 yds with mid price ammo. I have a Swfa SS 20X scope on both. Scope is reg $299, but are on sell until 30th. for $260. You can get the gun and scope for less $900. I would like to see a Tikka my self.

How much better does the Annie shoot than this?

I have a Savage MK II BVSS and also a Remington 541 S and they both shoot great about 1" @ 100yds with Eley black box 1056 velocity. Slightly closer to 1 1/2" with CCI standard velocity

Of all the 22 rifles I have personally shot or owned these are "On any given day" are a Toss-Up:

Sporter

Annie/Savage 54
Remington 541's
Remington 580,581
Sako P-94
Mauser 201
Remington 40X Repeater (A little more than $ 900.00)

Heavy Bbl

40 X
Annie 54
Suhl 150
Martini

These rifles can be found for $ 900.00 if U R patient

In my opinion the trigger on an Annie is far superior to the CZ's, Savages, or Tika's. My rifle a Walther target rifle, a KKM I believe has a great trigger and is very accurate with good Match Grade amo. I picked it up used for $800.

I am looking for suggestions for the most accurate rimfire I can buy, off the shelf, under $900. I shoot F Class Open normally and wanted to shoot something that didn't involve reloading to maintain my trigger time in the off season. Just looking for something that groups well, weight not an issue. I know there is a lot of new stuff like Tikka and Ruger RPR rimfires, and the golden oldies like CZ.
Tikka T1 most accurate rimfire I have seen in last 10 years

Is the Mauser 201 the same as the Voere 201...? I know Mauser bought Voere..
I have a Voere 201 with set triggers. Very accure. I have not shot it in over 20 years...

I don't know if this would interest you but there is a BSA Martini Mk II in the classified's. The BSA's I'm familiar with shoot very well, About 1" groups at 100 yards- with Premium ammo. These are falling block single shot rifles. I don't own one, but the fellows I shoot with do very well with them.

The most accurate rifle I’ve ever owned period - and I’ve owned tons - was a Martinini MKII. It even beat the full on custom Benchrest rifles I’ve had.

Of course that was probably a once in a lifetime unicorn more than likely, and lighting doesn’t strike twice and all that... But it was amazing! I tried to buy it back from the guy I sold it to, but he had already sold it to someone else and had no idea how to get in touch with him.

I’ve been kicking myself over that one for many years...

Where to go to find a CZ 455 Varmint?

I think you can come pretty close. Bud's Gun Shop still has the CZ 455 Tacticooll (aka Pro Varmint) for just over $500. It's still on their web site, anyway. Add another $430 for a new Lilja barrel w/shims. $20 or so for a YoDave trigger kit and you're ready to go. If my math is good, that's $950, and you can sell your original barrel to reduce costs even further. That's the setup I have and it's lovely.

What installation fee? The Lilja barrel w/shims is a drop-in and you can easily install it yourself. Ditto on a YoDave trigger kit.

But I agree that an Anschutz 64MPR would also be a good choice, if you can find one at a reasonable price.

I don't think a YoDave trigger is really necessary. I was able to get mine down to a reliable 1-1.5lb range with just a lighter (but longer) spring. I could further trim it and go even lighter without any issues like the bolt not stopping at the rear. But as my rifle is meant to retain the possibility of critter control, I don't go crazy with the hair trigger. I've get to shoot a rimfire accurate enough that 4-6oz of trigger weight was consequential to overall accuracy once you'r already under 1.5# or so. But then again I'm not the shooter some of you are and have less experience.
