Unless you absolutely need to shoot mice through the eye at very close range, a 60yd parallax setting is fine for a sporter.Too much parallax for a 22, since many shots are under 60 yards.
My 4-16 Sightron S1 was made in Japan and is really quite a bang for the buck. Any higher power becomes restrictive to the field of vision making it difficult to find small targets. Mine was found on Ebay and the price was right. I came like new in the original box with papers. I never expected to win with the bid I made.I have a Tract and a Meopta, both with BDC articles. To me the BDC reticle is very useful on 22s. After some practice I can go from 50 to 200 with no dialing.
Tract has some nice, not made in China, options for under $250 and their service is A+.
Tract Rimfire
Meopta is truly nice but the price is almost $400 now.
Also take a look at the Sightron S1 series. I don't have one but they look nice and not made in China. Here's a real deal on an S1 on Ebay.

In fact good deals on Sightron can be found on Ebay.
This is good to hear, as I have an Arken ELP5 5x25x56 IR being delivered today, atop a CZ MTR.Check out Arken scopes. The LH-4 series might be good for your and don't be fooled by the price. It's optical quality and durability is as good as scopes costing far more. I have 5 different Arkens and can't say enough about them.

Very interested in your clarity, color, contrast review at 600 and beyondThis is good to hear, as I have an Arken ELP5 5x25x56 IR being delivered today, atop a CZ MTR.
This setup will be relegated to 300 and in, and mostly just out to 100 for .22 LR bench shooting.Very interested in your clarity, color, contrast review at 600 and beyond
Thats ok, but can you take a look see anyway..... further out somewhere just for fun and try 2 thingsThis setup will be relegated to 300 and in, and mostly just out to 100 for .22 LR bench shooting.
I just picked it up. It'll be a little while before I can get out with it.Thats ok, but can you take a look see anyway..... further out somewhere just for fun and try 2 things
1. Check those 3 C's
2. See if the parallax will "over focus" until the image is blurry, (basically infinity)
then dial back to be in good focus (on high magnification)
-------------------
Some scopes, you can look a mile out and still have more room to turn the focus/parallax
other scopes, the parallax doesn't do anything much past 300/600 yds
The answer you gave was beautiful~!!!!My post is timeless.
I think that's where I bought my Sightron 1 Very reasonably priced and N.I.B. I really likr the scope~!I have a Tract and a Meopta, both with BDC articles. To me the BDC reticle is very useful on 22s. After some practice I can go from 50 to 200 with no dialing.
