How to Lower Powder and Primer Prices?

Most of Europe is forced to manufacture under the watch of ESG based oversight. Unelected oligarchs controlling businesses thru banking regulations, lending practices can shutdown all types of production. Food, energy, chemicals. They definitely don't want citizens having an ability to resist, protest or remove leadership.

I am thinking of selling all guns and reloading stuff and just fishing, at 59 I know my retirement money won't allow me but one hobby and fishing, even with a boat, will still be cheaper than reloading and shooting.

Prices will never return to previous levels, because these industries now have other customers, and as a result, reloading supplies will never again be over supplied.

The industry has also been consolidated in a small handful of owners, and nearly all of the competing imports have been eliminated.

Prices...... Local shop has been running a 20 % off ALL reloading supplies for a while. I picked up 2K Fed 210 GMMs for $190 and change (out the door) yesterday. Powders were "listed" between $45-64 with a really good selection and when you take the 20 % off they were not too bad. The only 8#s they had on hand were shotgun Powders though.

Hodgdon powder co owns many brands, Hodgdon, IMR, Winchester, Ramshot, Accurate, Blackhorn, Pyrodex, Triple Seven, and White Hots. Could a case be made that this is a monopoly? If so is there anyone in the federal government that would do anything about it? It sure seems to me like the Hodgdon company has too much influence, and under their rule prices have almost tripled. Maybe its time for some government oversite. I never in my life thought any thing like that would come out of my mouth, but i have 8 lb jugs of powder that are not too old that i bought for less than $200. You used to get a cheaper price for buying the quantity of 8 lbs, last time I looked the powder I was looking at you could buy 8 1lb cans for less than 1 8lb jug. I got persuaded to try VV165 in my 6.5-284, best powder Ive ever used, I should have switched all of my powders to VV back then. I pains me that we are being screwed by an American company, yet VV has tried to keep prices down. I imagine with the war in Ukraine and most of the European countries building up their militaries they are probably under more pressure to produce than anyone in the US.
And what was one of the first things Hodgdon did when they acquired IMR?
They dropped the IMR Enduran line of temp stable powders.
My belief is because it was in direct conflict with the Extreme powders they already had.
But hey what do I know?

Absolutely. A key objective of buying/merging is to improve profitability by eliminating costs associated with duplications in both product lines and operations.

Always been a hobby for me, nothing more.
Once a hobby is no longer interesting, or becomes too expensive (sailboat racing), I simply drop out and switch interests.
I have never had any interest in how their business works or who owns it.
I had enough running my own business for 29 years.

Never say never. At some point some of reloaders will have their stash so deep that they have enough for the rest of their lives and prices will fall. It’s simply the law of supply and demand.

Remember the 22LR shortages? Everytime it happened folks were saying how the prices will never come back to their old levels. Guess what? Following each shortage the prices not only fell but even further beyond the old prices because everybody was well stocked up by then.
