Hey ahhThanks for the laugh. Y'all must all wear 3-wolf-moon tee shirts and eat Haribo gummy bears, too.
Glad to see I'm not alone...
Why would they shoot at a Frenchie...just point at em and it is over.Hey now guys I'd feel negligent if I didn't warn you about posting that proprietary stuff on the world wide web. I'll bet them pesky Russians are hacking in and swiping it. Let's face it if they done got Trump elected you know they are all over this stuff. Hell I'll bet they can hit a Frenchie from Moscow with this technology!
The Russians ! That's it !!Hey now guys I'd feel negligent if I didn't warn you about posting that proprietary stuff on the world wide web. I'll bet them pesky Russians are hacking in and swiping it. What do you mean perfecting, didn't you see my 900yrd groupOn a different topic, I am wondering about that rebated rim on the 22 Nosler. If I get a whole bunch of that brass, will the rebate from Hornady help me pay for wildcatting it or will it void the rebate? Maybe someone who understands economics (Jammer??) nah...nevermind...
Maybe we should just talk about necking that thing down and using it in an AR with a gain twist barrel. My concern is bolt speed. How would one compensate for that? Or maybe we should stick with perfecting the barrel twisted process?
What have we done !Hey now guys I'd feel negligent if I didn't warn you about posting that proprietary stuff on the world wide web. I'll bet them pesky Russians are hacking in and swiping it. Disclaimer "it was all snert's idea !"
That Mr majestic seems to be pretty involved to
Just saying![]()
I did see that group. I just did not fully comprehend the amplitude of it. I guess i thought it was 9 yards, where I do most of my groups for internet posting. My mistake. Maybe we have reached the pineapple of twisted barrel technology development. Should we now look to advancing the fine art of concentricity? I have some ideas on that....What do you mean perfecting, didn't you see my 900yrd group
I see I didn't mention that was out of my newly twisted barrel . Not bad for the first five shot ,
22 nosler necked to 20 I think that would make a very nice round !
I don't think that with the integrity of the people on this post, that they knowingly mislead or falsify or embellish upon results or techniques, after all you only have to look at the subject matter to see the dedication of those involved !!I did see that group. Man this is good stuff, I will add it to my techniques manual, so just a question or two, I'm so excited I don't no what to ask first, OK important stuff first !!Shoebox
So glad you asked. I have some thoughts on concentricity. Now with our Twisted Barrel tech coming into its own, the next big huddle to overcome in the pursuit of accuracy is the concentricity of the handloaded metallic cartridge. We all know that concentricity has nothing to do with the brass itself. after all, it is manufactured with such care and such close tolerances that can easily be measured with a concentricity gauge and a hacksaw, or a mic and a loop. It is well known that firing a case in a chamber (especially one that has been twisted) will result in a perfectly formed case, due to that fraction of a moment when it turns to an elastic molten polymer and then snaps back to a solid. Then we take that perfect brass and run it cold thru a die. And lo and behold it shows up a lack of concentricity. Now we can fiddle with the brass, cutting the dreaded carbon donut out, or pressing the thing to the outside and burnishing the neck with a case neck turner, but that does not change the die. and it is the die that is the problem. Simply look at all the threads about neck sizing, full length sizing, bushing sizing, headspace and what all. What does it all have in common? It is plain as the ear on your head that it is the dies.
As I mentioned in an earlier answer, I have developed a honing method for my bushing dies. It involves a chicken bone (properly seasoned) and JB paste. Two commonly available components in any shooters bag. It is the PROCESS that together with the proper tools that created concentric brass, the pancreas of all accuracy endeavors.
