Good laugh.

I was at one of the big "box stores" yesterday. I was standing next to an employee and a customer. The employee told the customer to junk all of his cleaning supplys and just get a bore snake. "The bore snake is where it's at. It's all I ever use on all my guns". :o !!

WOW!!

Not surprised at all. Today is deer opener for deer in mn and yesterday was opener for ND. Thursday on the radio scheels the local sports store was saying there is still time to buy a new rifle.

I suppose you could sight in a new rifle in. How many think bore sighted is good enough?

My gun club is jammed the day before 1st day of deer gun season. Got to make sure they can hit a paper plate at 50. Preparation is important. ::)

At our club we shoot early and leave before the once a year shooters show up. It gets pretty funny watching them. We try to help them but some of them are the know it alls. Especially the ones with the brand new guns.

I like a good laugh. Thanks. I stopped by one of my local gun stores a couple years ago. I asked the "new" guy behind the counter if they had any 5 round mags.n for an M1A. He says " They don't make 5 round mags. Why would you want one, anyway?" I left, got home, and found one on the Net in 2 minutes. You hear the funniest stuff at a gun counter. And at the range. I, too, have met a few know it alls. The kids with the AR's, and all the add- ons, seem to be the worst at my range. By the way just north of me, in Pennsylvania, the Deer hunters manage to shoot 3 or 4 of their brethren each year. The "not so funny" results of poor behavior.

the only rifle I use a bore snake on is my AR, and only for the first pass to get enough stuff out so the cleaning rod goes in easier. Or at the range for a quick once over clean. for my other rifles? Nope

I wish all the neophytes would use only a "Bore Snake"(clean) than to ruin the barrel with the incorrect use of a cleaning rod! I've scoped some that could make a grown man cry! :'(

Story of shame: Our Sheriff's Office determined to buy 8 "precision rifles". The "expert" made his economy rifle choices and the rifles arrived, with dedicated $4.00 cleaning rod kits! The expert then cut off the knob on the aluminum rod, attached it to his electric drill, ran it into the muzzle and "power cleaned" every gun prior to service. Saw it with my own eyes. When I called BS, I got disciplined. I had the last laugh when the guns were all replaced a year later with 4 custom built Hart rifles. The expert was retired and our personnel went on to win top shooter at the FBI school.
There are idiots all around... ::)
