Would you mind posting a pic of that 20AR case? Anxious to see that one as I don’t recall seeing one of those before.No sir, back then it was all that was available. The 40 Berger is relatively short and works well for this rifle and on coyotes.
The 40 VMax is absolutely too long and will not work.I was at high altitude too in Colorado and shooting them pretty fast. When it's time I will definitely get an eleven for this rifle. This rifle shoots incredible well but to look at the bore you'd never know it.Bore scopes are very helpful but sometimes I think many a barrel have been chunked too early because of them.
For those that are curious the 20 AR is the idea of Greg Tannel a .030" longer body length 20 Tactical this was conceived to make loading on his Dillon easier. I used the 33 VMax back then and let me tell you it clobbered rock chucks, coyotes and crows in the high country. In essence it performs like a well built .204.
20 calibers have come a long way in 25 years, hoping they keep going with more bullet choices in the future.
