"0" Group at 1000 yards

Getting ready for our NBRSA Sscore Nationals, I shot this 100 yard 5 shot group with my 30BR.
Do E Targets have the resolution to accurately record and measure this.

I wish we had an electronic shot counting system for Short Range that cost about $250 per frame on a 20 Bench Range. I personally buy them for Tomball and we could shoot Short Range Registered Group Matches again.

I'm shooting 600 yds early tomorrow morning on my shot marker. I'll go load 5 more to shoot at 100 and see if I can get you a screen shot of it. Never tried it at 100 so it'll be interesting.

I think each “system” could cover a 4 target frame if you’re just counting shots.

I wonder if having 2 to 3 inches between target and backer would be enough to determine the number of shots fired ?

No. If 2 bullets go through the same hole at 100yds, 3 more inches wouldn’t matter.

this was tried for 1 year in the SW region. When it came up again after a trial period - the BOD discontinued the use of electronic/acoustical backer for verifying record shots on targets.

Thanks to Match Director Dan Lutke for all his work doing the stuff I won't deal with, also my right hand man (no longer my protégé "grasshopper", you keep kicking my ass!) Steve Epstien,
Michael Taner, and new shooter Craig Addely for all their help making this match a success.
Steve and Michael helped me with the frame setup on Friday, and Craig stuck around after the match on Saturday to help us move the frames to 200.
It may not sound like a lot but with a few people pitching in it makes it a lot easier on the rest of us!

This conversation has got me to thinking about a use for E Targets in 100/200/300 yard Benchrest.
To take the place of a mechanical moving backer system.

One reason many Clubs have abandoned Short Range Group in favor of Varmint for Score is the hassle of maintaining and setting up a moving backer system.

Could a single E Target sensor mounted atop each frame to be used to verify shot count?
Of course, if you had a 20 bench range, that would mean 20 individuals shot markers. The cost might be prohibitive.

I know very little about E Targets, so ………

Shotmarker would give you a number for the group size here but whether it's accurate or not is another story. What would be accurate is the number of shots and location.

Wouldn’t 1.046” be a “zero group”? Honest question. I don’t know if it’s MOA derived. Seems it should be.
