1.4 inch group at 1000 yds

That was shot in the Light Gun class, 5 shot group.

Looks can be deceiving, that's far from an "alley" to shoot in. In fact, the trees were just starting to leaf out last weekend. Add in some breaks in the timber, shooting over water, gravel, rock, and clay, coupled with an 85 degree day, hardly makes it a dream to shoot in, let alone a tunnel.

Great shooting and congratulations my friend. Your tenacity has prevailed!

Thanks for demonstrating that the world record is not to be presumed impossible.

Lot of folks would like to see T. Sarver's IBS 1K light gun record broken. FWIW Ron's range-measured 1.462" is .011 smaller than the current NBRSA 1000-yard Light Gun record, 1.473" shot by Bill Schrader in on 3/24/2002, just over 10 years ago.

So this really is a spectacular achievement!

I shot a 1.462 group at 1000 yds at the Midwest Benchrest club in Yukon, MO last Saturday just missing the world record by 1/16 inch or .065 inch. The rifle is a 6 Dasher, BAT SV, Bartlein barrel PR&T 5 inch stock. It is 17 lb LG. Also that day Henry Pasguet shot a 3.3 HG 10 shot group. Ron

Ron,
I agree with you on the type of people in the BR community, I personally if shooting beside you am never competing against you, I compete against myself, I try to do better then the last time I shot, I am always pleased to congratulate someone who shot a great group or score, and it is usually better then mine. Happy Easter to All :)
Wayne.
