Which 6? GT, XC, XC II, Creed, C47???

For all the guys that rant and rave about 6XC….

Will it shoot a bunch of consecutive groups in the .2s?

If it will, I want one.

Hmm. Well let's just check my phone.

Here is Barnes 112 6xc no load workup at all. R16. 38.6 on the left and 39.6 on the right. Just threw some together one day at 20 jump and went and shot them.

I didn't measure. They look pretty small.

Kinda hard to judge hole sizes on a splatter target but looks to agg in the mid .3s with that batch as a whole. Pretty good accuracy, but I don’t see it as rant and rave worthy.

I’m just really stuck on BR and GT variants because of how well they shoot for my friends and myself.

Was someone ranting and raving? I hadn't noticed...

No load workup at all with "junk" Barnes bullets are .3? Hmmm... I think that is pretty salty. There are certainly groups there smaller than .3.

I do like the 6br variants myself, but the 6xc is the king of the bigger sized cases. IMHO.

Accuracy wise which is better
I have not seen a single person say that one is any better than the other, in all the years that I've been reading post about the XC and primer size. I started my adventure in the XC with 200 Norma cases, with a large primer and they are still going strong after many, many reloads. When my current barrel gives up the ghost I may try some of Mr. Tubbs brass and try a small primer batch but until then, I'm still enjoying what I have.

I haven't seen a difference between the two.

Tried the SRP about five years ago, shoots the same as LRP, good way to keep brass segregated and doesn't eat into my LRP stash as much.

In all the time using the SRP, I had one instance, during a cold weather match, of about a one second hangfire and two instances of duds. All at the same match. Now, when I shoot that match and it's cold, I keep the rounds in the vehicle and warm until it's time to shoot.

I shoot across the course and use the LRP at 200/300 yards and the SRP at 600. I size the LRP a little more for use in the rapid-fire stages and that's the main way I sort between the short lines and long line.

My 600 yard load is a little higher pressure than the 200/300. There's reasoning behind using an SRP for a high-pressure load (more brass "meat" around the primer"), but I'm not running them hot.

But, again, never noticed a difference in group size between the two.

I have NO doubt that It would with, a TRUE Benchrest built, Rifle using, the proper Twist BRUX Heavy Barrel Gunsmithed by, a PRO and Match Grade, lighter wt., Bullets. I get consistent group's from my 1-7.5 Twist
( .707 Diameter Muzzle, Med Hvy "Sporter" bbl ) with, 107 gr SMK's and 80 gr Flat Based Bergers, in the 3's and some group's down into, the Low 2's and it's Only,..
a SUB, $3,000 Rifle with, a cheap, $300 Criterion Barrel w/ a total Rifle weight of, 10.5 Pounds.
Of the "Bigger Case capacity" 6's, it can Do well at, Long range, also ( Has Won 4, 1,000 yard Championships )

If anybody has a 6 XC that will agg in the .2s, let me know. It looks like a great cartridge, but I’ve never seen anything concrete that makes me want to build one.
