Where to move?

I have dreams of retiring to a much more isolated area, but I sure was glad to not be isolated when my wife needed chemo and surgery.
I hear ya but there are places that are a few hrs away from the cr8p that are isolated and pleasant to live. In my little coastal town we have all the testing/imaging/er/basic doctors etc and then if you need some major stuff then it is a day trip away. The funny part is my wife needed mammogram and usually has to book 4 mos out in the big town 2 hrs drive but now we have one it is a week wait.

Yes. The proximity to competent medical services is, in some cases, a must.
I live in a beautiful rural area in New York State. 700 acre dairy farm is my neighbor. BUT the political situation in NY is abysmal. And it will only get worse.
The choice then is already made for me.
But the dream is fascinating.

Rural Utah isn't for everyone....but I hate cities/traffic and all that goes along with it

Most recently....took a day trip in the Cruiser...passed through alpine forests at 10K' plus

Dropped off the mountain....rather well maintained Forest & BLM roads

Saw two vehicles/people in my 75 mile loop...nice

High desert ranges from 6-7K' but again not everyone's cup of tea

Being retired helps me a lot where I live...wife soon to retire

I know those roads, travel them twice a year via motorcycle and in the winter in the Jeep. 15 years ago you could roll into the surrounding towns with no over night reservations, unfortunately it’s changed a lot and some Utah’s best is being discovered and their are efforts to make little Moab’s out of them is an onslaught. Beautiful pics.

I still know empty places.......all year long

I remember back in the 80-90's we had some real neat hidden hot springs out in sw Oregon High desert. Great spots to go to after mountain hunt camps to clean up. And then the internet started up and hot springs hippies found them and started posting maps and locations for all their friends on hot springs websites. Didn't take long for them to introduce the red biting mites from idaho mountains into our desert spots via their towels they would drape on the bunch grass, where the mites laid eggs. Now you go to our hot springs and can come out with red welts that itch for ever.

No locations given other than southern Utah, you won’t see me sharing my haunts in Arizona or giving locations other than something general like that - accurateshooter is a little different than FB or IG

Don't do IG........FB very little....private groups

But do not share and GPS co-ord's ever
It gets harder and harder to find, we still have a few too. Some of best have been found out, bummer.

yep...pic

southern Utah
