>>>>>The SECRET.... 6.5 CAROLINA LOAD<<<<<<

Alright, this officially needs to be moved to the correct forum. Tough to find.

On the other hand, the Secret Load's red headed step child (IMR 4831) chrono'd 2900 fps with 45 grains. I'll post the full 10 shot chronograph results tomorrow. Before I might forget, after the consecutive 10 shots in a 80° day, I was able to comfortably hold the barrel.

Let us see your groups as well 40Fan

This thread should not be tough to find... it should be listed above under your ALERTS... which should show you every post you have made as well as other members who post to the same thread... unless you don't have your thread alerts box checked.

Not much of a group with these 10 rounds over the chronograph. More of a point and shoot instead of aim.

And I keep looking in the "Big Stuff" section of the forum.

IMR 4831, 10 shots loaded in .2 grain increments from 43.2-45.0. 28" barrel. 140 ELD-M moly coated.

7, 9, 2904, ft/s 44.8

But now, the question becomes, 44.4 with the GREAT ES or 44.8 because of the great vertical and the dip in POI?

If sighters had varying seating depth and grouped do you have those depths noted.
I would probably re shoot both .4 and .8, for goofing around nice job.

No, I didn't note them. :( These were all slightly into the lands and the first two were seated too far...that is about all I remember.

I think you're right though. Try both weight charges again.

My only dilemma was this...

Snapped a picture of the lot number with my phone and headed to the LGS today. Luckily found another matching box. Getting moly coated now and more shooting this weekend!

It's slow but dang sure groups very well.

Thanks to OP for starting this thread. It helped me on starting point with this powder even though RL16 shoots well too for me.

I've had rounds loaded up in both the 44.4 and 44.8 grain weight with IMR 4831 for well over a week and still haven't hadn't the chance to shoot them.

Free bump to the top in the meantime.
