The guys that ran the Firestone heavy truck and passenger car recapping shop in the 50's where I grew up had a dual price schedule posted, one price if your "casings" were good and a higher price if you used their casings.My Grandma always called her car tires Casings.
I think grammar and terminology is important, especially when communicating about firearm related information.

There is "something going on there", and I don't know what.Back in the day, I hung out with a fellow car guy that couldn’t say “quarter panel” without it coming out quarter pounder. I have a shooting buddy now that calls rifle lands the lathes. You can say, did you mean lands, and he will answer, yea lathes….lol. Both guys were fairly intelligent otherwise.
