I was told to use Nosler Partition bullets, as a young man. I've killed a number of deer, antelope using mostly a 25-06. The Noslers were 117grain then in 257. I still use them for deer size game, for prairie dogs and sage rats I use 85 gr. bullets. I'm sure some of the 6mm and 6.5 bullets and cases are better, but I have enough 25-06 stuff to last a few more life times. I've got 117 gr. Noslers that retailed for $ 5.00 a box of 50. The gun is a classic pre-war Mod 70, dark walnut stock, checkered by a smith that learned his trade at Eddie Bauer, changed the scope from Bausch & Lomb to a Leupold 4X to 14X, for prairie dogs, not long ago. I don't use the 25 if I'm on horse back or in grizzly country, then I use a pre 64 Mod 70 270 or a pre 64 Mod 70 300 WM, I bought new on April 18, 1964. The next day I went on the Army's payroll at Fort Ord, California.
