Problem w/ Nightforce comp scope

Anyone having trouble with the Nightforce comp. models keeping the same point of impact? I have had the scope since April 2013, I shot the nationals and world with it in Raton and no trouble, since I have shot two matches at 1000 and 600, and the POI has crept up in elevation, from the 10 & x ring to the 7 & 6 ring at 1 o'clock.

Thanks

Yep
Mine when to the 5 ring up there at 800 at the Nationals.
Next day when over the top and then hung a 5 again at 1 o'clock.
Sold it before I left Raton. Folks try to say it is the " wind conditions" that do that. I say it is the condition of the scope.
Guy that bought scope says he has to change elevation each shot to keep up with it creeping.

Forgot to say that my March 10-60 came in last week. I think I am in love. Now the gun is complete again.

I have had three on three different guns and didn't have any problems with mine. I love them. If I did run into a problem I would send it in and I am confident that it would be taken care off 100%

Spend 2-3 years preparing for the biggest LR shoot ever in the US, then take 10 days off of work, spend thousands of dollars in travel, meals, lodging, match fees, etc., and then have your scope go bad on you during the match! Yeah, I'm sure you would not bitch at all.

But it's ok, the Worlds will be back in the US in 20-24 years so he can try again!

Richard, I'm glad you like your new March. Sorry to hear about your scope in Raton.

With 3 years of preparation why would a person try something new? Larry

it was supposed to be the latest and the greatest, but some scopes were not !

Jefferson (owner of 6 nightforce scopes none of which are the new model any more)

Thanks Jefferson for expaining that some scopes are good and some - not so good. I got a bad one.
But kind of like a girlfriend that cheats on you - even if you take her back - you NEVER know when she is going to do it again. I did not want to see that scope again. I LOVED it before it cheated. If you have a good one - more power to you.
I have two other BR models that have been back for repair. Had geart service from NF on them.
But kybountyhunter asked if anyone else had a problem. I answered yes. So now he can send his back since it my not be the conditions or the shooter.

I wouldn't bitch if it was a cheap scope ($200) but at $2300 I would expect I'm buying something that does work.

I had one also and i think the power is over rated, compared to my NXS. i didn't like the 5 min. per rev. also ….. jim

I put one on our 6BR and have had no problems; I know kybountyhunter had to send his back. NF paid shipping both ways and had it back to him very quickly. My only complaint with scope is the turrets; I would have much rather had a NXS type turret but this scope was built to save weight. Great glass, run ours around 35 power on most days.

Comes across as just a bunch of ranting by a bunch of pissed off people with no real proof. A post that is meant to be constructive with helpful information would involved people having "problem" working with the manufacturer to see if there is a problem and a fix. IF the manufacturer is not helpful, then this is a forum to discuss this problem. Not impressed.

I disagree. Customer service in virtually all industries have taken a dive (with exceptions). A lot of times they point the finger at YOU before anything.

I think it's fair to assess whether the problem is specific to yourself or the manufacturer. If the manufacturer doesn't fix the problem then you go to the forums then it is just bitching. I've done that after receiving poor customer service and been slammed on forums, lesson learned.

Also this thread is 3 years old...

So you are saying that you are going to judge what NF is going to do before you even used them because you had a general bad experience with other vendors? I've personally not had any problems with NF and I have in fact used them more than once. The thread is 3 years old but what the OP said originally still stands.

I make my purchase decisions based on this priority.

1. Reliability
2. Function
3. Value
4. Name Brand/Reputation
5. Looks Asthetics

If something breaks in the first place than I seriously lose trust in the product. (If I negligently treat it obviously it's my fault.)

NF has a good reputation for a reason. We have high expectations because of the reputation and because we spent so much money.

I probably would give the company a chance to fix it, but I'd like to know a) is this a known issue b) is the company shiesty, fair, or generous

This information is better gained from the shooting community rather than the judge, jury, executioner.

I have a Nightforce 5-25 ATACR F1 scope. I mounted it on a custom built 6.5-06 AI with a Stiller Predator action with the Stiller picatinny base and Nightforce rings. Until recently, I was shooting 100 yard .30", three shot groups and hitting targets and prairie dogs at 300 yards. The rig began to shoot all over the place, even off of paper. New Night force rings were installed, torqued to specs and the base was double checked. It still shot all over and off of the paper. The last three shot test group results were: first shot on, second shot was at 2 o'clock 3-4" off and the the third shot was off of paper. I sent the scope back to Nightforce and their techs reported that there is nothing wrong with the scope. He stated that when the rings are mounted, they have to be pushed forward in the slot on the base. After the last group, the gunsmith that built the rifle and I re-checked the rings and base, and they were solid as a rock.
