True!ANYTHING.....man-made can go bad!!
I forgot to mention. This target was shot with the same rifle and the NF scope before the problems developed. It has grouped better since they sent it back. The rifle has not grouped as well with the NF scope as it did when I mounted my Leupold VX-6 4-24 on it. I did some tracking tests and I am not pleased with the results. That being said, I am not sure my testing was the best it could be. I am sending it to another shooter to test it on his proven accurate rifle. After those tests are done, I will test it again with a load that shoots accurately in the rifle.View attachment 988623 View attachment 988623
Nightforce obviously makes quality scopes. Mine was working fine until the problem developed. My rifle will shoot and I hope the scope works out. I am disappointed in their customer service. This is the first 15 shot group I fired from 1000 yards with a 6.5x47Lapua after I mounted a 5.5x22x56MM NF scope atop! Since this time....I've had to replace the bolt nut that holds the 20" plate onto the mainframe.....twice! The higher shot toward 11:30 and the two lower shots were after establishing a firm zero.

After extensive testing, the scope seems to be performing as it should. I tested and another shooter tested on his proven accurate rifle. When it is returned, I will re-mount it and do additional shooting with it.With as many NF users as there are at this forum, your ultimate resolution of the issue, good or bad, would be of benefit to many, and much appreciated. Let us know how it works out.
I appreciate everyone's input and information in this forum.Good to hear. Obviously quite painful, but it seems like you'll end up with a scope that's working as it should be. Thanks for keeping us posted.
Thanks for the information. I will keep that in mind when I remount it. Your money back guarantee is really impressive.Like the OP, I too have an atacr 5-25 F1 that I struggled with and even got a RMA # from NF. I thought scope going bad, the I checked rail to action screw TORQUE, one was loose. Fixed that and POI shift went away.
But I always had trouble with the parallax having some shift.. it would loose focus after a few 308 rounds.. and knob having slop and I always had to start with infinity and come back....i remounted the scope in the rings about 1/2 inch further away from original spot on the tube and problem went away Screws torqued to 30 inch lbs in rings
Frustrating yes, so if you have these issues those are some hints to try

When I got it back from NF, I had another guy test it on his rifle and I have done further tests and it appears to be functioning as it should. I will do additional testing if I can get a day when this West Texas wind isn't blowing too much.Late to the party I know, but did you ever try the scope in a different set of rings? Unless I missed it I never read where the rings were changed.
I think they did.I'm sorry if this has already been mentioned, I scanned through the posts but may have missed someone else mentioning this. I haven't heard of this with Nightforce before, but there are 2 other brands that are notorious for having scopes sent in for repair, then sending them back to the customer saying there is nothing wrong, but with the scope miraculously in perfect working order when the owner gets it back. Take it for a spin when you get it back, it's very possible that the magic scope fairies swooped in and made everything perfect again for you.
