Problem w/ Nightforce comp scope

Anyone having trouble with the Nightforce comp. models keeping the same point of impact? I have had the scope since April 2013, I shot the nationals and world with it in Raton and no trouble, since I have shot two matches at 1000 and 600, and the POI has crept up in elevation, from the 10 & x ring to the 7 & 6 ring at 1 o'clock.

Thanks
I have a Nightforce 5-25 ATACR F1 scope. I mounted it on a custom built 6.5-06 AI with a Stiller Predator action with the Stiller picatinny base and Nightforce rings. Until recently, I was shooting 100 yard .30", three shot groups and hitting targets and prairie dogs at 300 yards. The rig began to shoot all over the place, even off of paper. New Night force rings were installed, torqued to specs and the base was double checked. It still shot all over and off of the paper. The last three shot test group results were: first shot on, second shot was at 2 o'clock 3-4" off and the the third shot was off of paper. I sent the scope back to Nightforce and their techs reported that there is nothing wrong with the scope. He stated that when the rings are mounted, they have to be pushed forward in the slot on the base. After the last group, the gunsmith that built the rifle and I re-checked the rings and base, and they were solid as a rock.

I didn't mention that the smith mounted a scope known to function properly, and when I fired a three round group, two were in the same hole and the group was approx. .40" center to center measured with calipers. The techs answer to that was that the scope used in the test was a lighter weight scope, and he still believed it had to do with mounting.

Well, FWIW I have a Night Force SHV that I had mounted on my Kimber Mountain Ascent 280AI. The only rings and bases the gunshop had in stock when I bought this rig was Leupold brand Redfield type. The ones with the front ring you turn 90 degrees and the rear ring with the two cheesy little windage screws that barely catch onto the base by the little fingernail cutout. I really do not/have never liked this style ring, but again, it is what they had at the time.
I was unable to get the rifle to group. Personally, I have not had/seen but one known, factual, for absolute certain bad scope in my life. My experience has been that the scope is one of the biggest scapegoats there is...right up there next to an ignition coil. I tried everything to get this thing to group. Finally, it got down to nothing left to try but the scope. I put a different scope with different rings and bases on the rifle and it shot just fine.
I called Night Force and was told that they only recommend "mil-spec" bases and rings because of the weight of this scope. They immediately offered to take the scope back and test it, but asked me if I could try better rings and bases first. I reinstalled this particular SHV on a different rifle but the same caliber with Leupold dual dovetail rings and bases and sure enough, it works great.
Not saying scopes cant go bad, just that based on my experience...it is extremely very rare. One in 40 years for me. That said, my groups were not anywhere near that bad. What my rifle/scope combo did was shoot two 2" groups about 2" to 2 1/2" apart. I am very satisfied with the scope now. I cant help but notice that there sure seems like a disproportionately high number of Night Force scopes for sale used. I wonder what it is about them that people don't like.
