Ted (Shortgrass) Is a very good Gunsmith, Every Gunsmith has his own Strong Points and style.

Here is a video from F-Class John with his Gunsmith Terry Balding. Like I said every Gunsmith has his own style and some might not agree with his methods but it doesn't matter his rifles have several World Records under them, But my point with linking this video is he uses a $7500.00 Grizzly G0709 1440 Lathe made in China and he is putting out good work with it.

Eric Cortina said in one of the later video's that he let F-Class John shoot his rifle and his results instantly improved. He had a different rifle built with a Borden action and has started being more consistent and wining.

That is not Ted, I don't know why people make fun of Randy Selby, He does things the old way, That's all. He went to the trades school for Gunsmithing just like Ted did and he puts into practice what he learned there. Most of his customers are hunters, Not F-class shooters. And Randy and Ted know more about Gunsmithing in General than you or I are ever going to know.

Anybody with some machining knowledge can screw a barrel onto a receiver and bed it into a stock. Can you carve a Gunstock from a blank? Those two guys can, Can you straighten a bore on a barrel? And they can do almost all other aspects of Gunsmithing from muzzleloaders to revolvers.

Another guy with a Chinese Grizzly, If you watch this young man you will see that his skills are on another level. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship! Most on this board would only dream of having skills at this level.
