Powder Prices Are Shocking

I Was into race cars for over 25 years--I had a perfect chance to sell out and did! It was like getting a big raise $$$$ --when I look now the prices of engine parts, cams , pistons etc slicks--All of it has gone up more than powder--when I compare what I spent then to now on shooting--it is a laugh out loud happy laughter--
Yup powder prices make me cringe but after you have your rifles , scopes, and equipment paid for it is like buying gas for the race car--
Just stock up while we can get it-- Its when you can't get any that is the real problem

Rick has the right idea--smaller cartridges can be just as fun as any other

Powder is Cheap compared to Nitro!
Did the very same with a very successful TA/FC. The moment I walked away was very much like getting a huge raise, plus a ton of time I'd spent working on, traveling, and competing.

I do not disagree with the posts here about the prices of reloading supplies.
However, look at what you have and what it's worth with and without ammo.

An example -
I have a Westley Richards double rifle, last estimate on it's value was $20k.
You want to talk about expensive to reload for, it surely fits into this conversation.

Without ammo it is pretty much useless and worth about $4k/5k as a collector piece.

It saved my butt more times than I care to remember. I do take it out an shoot it about once a year, so need to reload ammo for it.

If I do not 'have' components available to make some ammo for it, it loses it's value by a lot.

Just the same as all of your weapons would.

Again, I am in the same boat as all of you, I don't like the high prices we are seeing today.

Not trying to be a smart a$$, but anyone that has a rifle suitable for benchrest that shoots 0's and 1's and is willing to sell it for a discounted price (due to reloading supply costs) I will seriously consider buying it.

I'm not a rich guy, but not a poor guy. I will continue to do the things I like to do as long as I can ...... and shooting is one of them.
