Wade posted it in the wrong place, but that is cool, thanks Wade!

I am going to test the loads 32.7, 32.8 & 32.9. What do you guys think? Velocity is only around 3050, but I can truly live with that.

Frog""""".. don't know how your target was mounted, but the cleanest looking hole in the group
was.. 32.8
does it matter.. ?

Froggy, do you think a person would gain anything trying a 22 dasher over your 22 BR? Just curious I have always wanted a 22 cal. I have a 6 dasher that works for f class.

I believe that it may work, but the bbl life would probably be like the 22/250. I am going to try one more load at 1K tomorrow, if it doesn't work, then I am going to resign to the fact that this bbl does not like the 90's at all. I have a load that works with 75Amax and 30grs of Varget. I have also been offered to try some of the 80Amaxes.

Very cool that this thread has gotten over 4K in views. It appears that quite a few are very interested, but it would be good to hear what others have experienced if they have tried this.

Froggie most interesting, been following with intensions of ... Lol's but anyways...
was looking around Sierras .22Br 5th edition site provided by Accurate... even though a 70gr bullet isn't listed,.. a 69 an 80gr are... there max load for each was listed as... 30.8 an 28.3 gr of Varget, you have gone beyond that by alot... assuming i was to try.... just wondering can Lapua case with a 70gr bullet , 205 fed primer an 32.7 gr of Varget powder be done in a SS sporter barrel ?

Rich,

If I have not mentioned before, the rifle that I am shooting really likes the Hornady 75gr Amax with 30 grains of Varget. With the weight bullet that you mention, I wouldn't try to beyond 31.5 grs of powder. See the following:

http://www.accurateshooter.com/cartridge-guides/22br/

My whole intent for what I am doing, is to shoot my rifle @ 1K with Berger 90's. Therefore, the throat is way longer than normal. The junction of the bearing surface and the boat of the bullet is above the donut area of the neck.

Without knowing the specs of your chamber and can only presume that it is a standard chamber, I can only recommend to you to stick to standard data.

GREAT group. Looks to me any of these powder/bullet loads is excellent at 200 yards. Now it seems the thing to do is back off to the 300/1000 yard distances and see what happens and report back. Good luck!
