Need input on a 6mm coyote build

The 6 GT is a really good choice. For 300 yards and fur friendly, get you a good 12 twist barrel in a
number 4 size (or size of your choice) and test the Sierra 70 GR Blitz King, the 70 Gr Varmageddon, Barts 80 Gr dominator and the 68 GR Avenger. All of those will be fur friendly, accurate and very deadly. Look no further...You will be very pleased...
I’ve shot about 60 dogs with the 80 Dominator and it is definitely NOT fur friendly. If I told you that, I didn’t mean to!

Hell of a deer bullet though.

Just pick the 6-284 and be an Outlaw instead of a Cool kid.
AND,. Build your Rifle WITH,.. 2 New Barrels to, Equal the Barrel "Life" of, ONE Barrel, chambered in,...
the 6 GT, 6 XC, or,.. 6x47L ( Stay "Cool" , as being an "Outlaw",.. IS,. Expensive ! )

But it's so much fun being bad.
Believe Me,. I'm NOT, "immune" to,.. awesome Speed !
Got, a 6.5 -.284 or, 6.5 PRC,.. STUCK, in my Brain for my,.. Next Rifle !
I have, a 6.5 Creed, launching 130 gr. ELD-M's at, 2,850 fps and Suddenly, it's NOT, "Good Enough",.. LOL !
I Need to, grow Up and Be "Satisfied" with, WHAT,.. I have ! ( I can hear the Bullet Ping Steel at, 850 yds ) BUT,..
I want to hear, the Bullet "Ping" Steel at, 1,000 -1,200 yds,.. now,.. LOL !
What's wrong with, Me ???

FYI, the 6.5 PRC will stay supersonic to 2K......

I won a custom bolt action rifle, and I intend to make it a dedicated coyote rifle

There’s a whole slew of 6mm cartridges I’m interested in but have no direct experience with any of them. Whatever I end up going with will also be my first cartridge that I handload exclusively for.

I read about guys pushing the 62 grain varmint grenade around 3700+ and rarely getting exits. That’s the kind of performance I’m after.

6x47, 6arc, 6XC, 6creed, 243….

Let’s hear your input. I’m probably overthinking this, but I will likely never get a free rifle again so I want to make the most of the opportunity.
Build yourself a hotrod Chcks dig them

I like speed, so I shoot a 22-6MM AI and a 6MM AI. I shoot 50 gr Sierra Blitzking in the 22-6MM AI at 4300 fps. And 55 gr Sierra Blitzking out of the 6MM AI at 4180 fps. I hold on fur out to 475 yds. I use the duplex reticle as my range finder. The bullets are tough on fur but I don't care. There both easy to load for. I form my brass with 5 grs of blue dot. Then fill with cream of wheat and shove the neck into a bar of soap. You will also have the cleanest barrel you ever seen.

Just running your 6mm load…

There’s 22.5” of drop at 475 with a 200 yard zero and 16.25” of drop with a 300 yard zero.

Just how big are the coyotes in North Dakota, if you’re holding on hair to 475?

A 25-284 would be my choice. The new 130-140gr bullets are wicked. If not a quarter-bore, then a 6-284.

With what bullet and velocity??

My 7-300 Win Mag shooting 180g ELDMs at 3000fps doesn't even stay supersonic to 2K...
My 1st LR build was a 338/300 Ultra which stayed super to 2K, but got tired of the blast & concussion.

Sold it & built a 7-300 that stayed super to 2K.

Sold that & built the 6.5 PRC when it came out......

Three best would be the 6Gt, 6x47 Lapua or the 6 Creed with the first two being the pick of the litter.

No way I'd spend money on a 6x284 or any other overbore 6mm.. For that matter I'd not have a .243 Win either, as long as I reloaded.. I've done most of them have the reamers, barrels and dead coyotes to show for it.. This is my answer and I'm sticking to it..
