Looking for precision weight scale

I have had a FX 300 for 20+ years and it has never missed a beat. The older style load cells etc but incredible repeatability, linearity etc. Check weight is always spot on and needs no calibration if I leave it on (and warmed up).
Very keen to get another - at 400 Would be tempting

Last price I saw quoted was ~ $3000....was last year in thread linked below. See last two posts.

I have had my A&D FX120i now for around 12 months and the scale works very well and is ultra reliable. Look here for video and details: http://balance.balances.com/scales/1223/

You don't own it,it's a lease :o

And it's no big deal, nobody I know who has one, including me cares about the lease.

If Brian427cobra does in fact own a original Shelby 427 Cobra the $3000 or so price tag of the Prometheus II is probably "no big deal".

Looked at the photo of the A&D FX120i on Cambridge's site - is the 4-post draft shield removable? If not, it sure looks to me as though it'd be awkward to work around when adding powder or removing a pan.

Otherwise, it looks like a pretty good deal; my DI MX 123 is still perking along (bought it shortly after it was first shown on this site), but I do get a little tired of its few minor quirks during a long loading session.

The 4-post draft shield is not removable, you must work through that little hole on top of the shield, just joking. Yes, you just lift the entire shield off the scale for access to the scale pan.

I DO NOT own a Shelby anything, I'm 6'3, and my head is way over the top of the windshield of a Cobra, I took my money and invested it in a new house, I left Shelby's factory with the same amount of money I showed up with, the Kit from Shelby was 40k at the the time.

For the record I fix 737's for Southwest Airlines, I get paid by the hour, nights, weekends and holidays spent at work are still in my future after 26 years of doing so, I worked for the Prometheus I have, as well as everything else in my life, the money I have spent on the 2 mechanical scales in the long run will be cheaper than the money other people will spend on electronic ones, because when the electronic one goes TU and is out of warrenty or the company is no longer in business, money must be spent to maintain the same level of accuracy, my Gen 2 will still be kicking *** every 8-10 seconds with 1/3 of a kernel accuracy.

Lastly, the lease is to keep the Gen 2 Prometheus out of certain peoples hands, who you'll have to ask Mr Brand Cole, but the lease is not set up like a car lease or a Rent A Center, which at the end the unit must be turned in, auto renewls itself and keeps going, when I say its no big deal I mean it, if the lease was bad thing I would tell every single person I met, the world on the Inertnet, and have it written on my tomb stone, its simply a way for Brand to keep his invention, his, and I don't understand why people think so negatively about it. If you can't afford one, I understand that, if you can't afford one and complain on the Internet, well you should have made better choices in your life.

Brian, calm down and try to see the humor and the light side of what I said. I actually learned a lot about the Prometheus II from your posts, both present and past but you are taking things too seriously when you get down to talking about a person making better choices in life when it comes to being able to or wanting to purchase the Prometheus II.

Not only does the draft shield lift off from the scale it can also stay in place and you can slide out any of the 4 clear windows that make up its sides. I usually slide out 2 windows and use one opening for the powder tray and the other to allow the trickler entry over the pan when its in place.

Just a query re the FX-120i - the video on the balances.com site goes through all the various weights but does not mention grains. The brochure lists grains - before I buy one can anyone confirm that it does measure grains ? I am sure it does and suspect the voice over on the video probably just forgot to include grains in the narrative.

thanks

Martin , before I ordered , I downloaded the pdf user manual on the cambridge web page . yes , it does show grains in the manual . according to my ups tracking number I should receive my scale tomorrow , so tomorrow evening I'll know for sure . Jim

Thanks Jim,
It looks a great value scale. I have a Gempro 250 at the moment which is good, however the FX seems better when trickling.
