What is your opinion on this target? 223 with 90 Vld's at a .15 jam. Wind was blowing 15-20 today but it's the only day I could test.

I think you fat fingered .015" into .15". That would be a hell of a jam. ;) [br]
Have you tried jumping these? A friend has found success jumping them, contrary to most anecdotal experience.

I'd go with 23.4 ES 8 for the least vertical & low spread. See how it goes under different conditions, maybe adjust seating depth if consistency shows the need.

23.6 should not have high ES. Loads on both sides of it have low ES.

I like 23.8. Based on this target I would load 23.9 and test seating depth.

Yea Steve typing on an iPhone and fat fingers don't go so well. Do you know how much your buddy is jumping these? Figured I would do a seating depth test with 23.4 or 23.9.

That's what I was thinking also. I tried another powder and they shot just as well jumped .020 but wasn't good enough for competition. At 23.6 two of the shots were within 5fps.

My new load workup?

Not sure where I should go from here? What do you guys think?

This 1st target is initial development shot outdoors. P=pull and sp=slight pull.

2nd target was shot indoors but under a time constraint! I hurried everything along about 30% faster then normal because I had to get the chrono numbers as well. The last 42gr target was with the magneto speed attached, thus thus the slight change in POI. The only real pulled shot was the low one on the 41.5. FYI the 42gr does give me the speed I am looking for.

40 to 40.5 looks somewhat promising. How is the speed there?

I have found that max loads sometimes shoot well, but the size of the node can't be determined without sacrificing brass. How hot is the 42 grain load? Do you have much headroom?

I think the 40-40.5 is too slow, the 42 load had the best near perfect speed. I am just starting to compress with the 42 load 20K off the lands. If I stay up I will have to load closer to the lands to keep from compressing.
