LABRADAR PROS AND CONS

Just think if you upgraded to a labradar... Plop on bench, aim and arm. Done. No POI issues. Simple...

Thats what my MS gives me. See pic above. Clamp on. Turn on. Shoot.

And just from reading this thread, the LR requires a bit more than what you described.

Like what you like. :)

the thread about LR pros & cons?
Why are we reading about other systems?

Pros and cons only make sense as compared to other options. At least that's how I make decisions…

It was posts about the Vudoo in my CZ457 posts that got me to buy one. SOOO glad ppl gave me the heads up.

Nobody is forcing you to do anything, lol. You like the MS, so make your MS pro/con thread and you can argue there...or you can get the Lab and drink the orange Kool aid. :)

Yer happy. I'm happy. We're all happy. :)

OP asked for pros / cons. One "con" is other systems that are marginally better at certain aspects of the task. I'm trying to supply that info. If U think nothing is better anywhere, the OP would want to know that also.

Read the OP. He ordered a Labradar.

Labradar A+ for me,freind bought a MS at the same time and now he wished he would have gotten the lab

And yet *still* asked for pros and cons. Besides...other ppl who haven't bought yet are reading this thread.

Read the OP title again. Let me help “
LABRADAR PROS AND CONS“.

The MS is no way shape or form a con to a Labradar just because you have one. You never even used a Labradar, LOL

So, how is this used? Unit still has to be setup and aimed?

It plugs into the 3.5" audio jack on the LR. It's right below the micro-USB connection for external batteries.

You pretty much just plug it into the port, and attach it to some portion of the rifle or bipod/rest. No other setup is required.

Now instead of triggering based off sound, it will trigger based off movement.

The sensor itself is very sensitive, so you'd ideally want to attach it somewhere away from the action. If it's too close to the action, it'll trigger just by working the bolt.

I love mine; I actually attach it with Velcro to the back side of my phoenix bipod. Never triggers when working the bolt, and picks up 100% of shots. If you're a BR or F-Open shooter, I suspect you could even velcro it to a SEB/Farley and it would trigger.

It also means you can switch between suppressed & unsuppressed, or rifles with different barrel lengths with no other adjustment. As fast as you can swap a gun in your bipod/rest is as fast as you can be clocking rounds.

I'd consider it a 'must have' for where I shoot.

Edit: Apparently the sensor is nothing more than an accelerometer than what's in your smartphone.

You win the cost but its sure not easier and ive never even had a portable bench it didnt fit on- if i did i would mount it on a simple tripod

Yet more money. I'm not made of money. :)

My MS is far easier to use that what I've read by owners in this thread alone. See my pic above. (1) Clamp it on - in my case to the chassis, not the barrel. Not an option for pure BR guns, but I don't "do" them. (2) Turn it on. (3) Shoot away. No set up. No bluetooth-ing. No lost comms. FAR better battery life, etc.

I'll leave you to have the ease of use / intuitive / learning curve discussion with other owners who have spoken to the issue. :)

I think you're misconstruing my post here. And let's be real, the MS has some significant drawbacks; which you've basically acknowledged by purchasing a ~$100+ rod that clamps to the side of a chassis.

What happens if you want to shoot a stocked rifle? All of a sudden, that MS isn't going to be clocking rounds until you've got the load developed.

Don't get the wrong impression from my post (or others in this thread). Pretty much everyone on here is telling you that they once owned an MS, and now only use their LR.

A MS isn't a bad chronograph, but outside of mounting it in specific use case scenarios (such as a chassis rifle with an external mount), their downsides far outweigh an LR.

I've used it on pretty much all my guns w/o problem. Getting below half MOA accuracy. Suppressed firearms. With and without chassis. Barrel mounted. No problems. And today will be the first time using the chassis mount.
