Labradar competitor coming

'Defy Gear' over at Hide reported this about a new Caldwell product call the 'Velociradar' today. Thought it was worth reposting and could be a disrupter in the radar biz or at least get Labaradar to improve the various things we all complain about. I also posted the Natchez listing so it must be real.

Yeah I’m assuming that’s because it’s a brand new item so they simply put a placeholder on the website for it.

Not at all but its just like hawkeye losing 98% of their gun business over a $50 chinese borescope. Nobody buys quality they buy on price

The market for quality is small and most often based on what one can afford. It's like . . . how many of us are using a Prometheus Gen II???

I bought a Teslong cuz I cannot justify the cost of a Hawkeye. Works for my needs.

I've wanted a basic no-frills radar type chronograph since the LabRadar was released. If the VelociRadra works well, Caldwell will sell zillions of them at that price.

FX airguns has a radar chrono for airguns that can track anything below 1099 fps. There were some writings on the internet of them creating one for firearms too. Their current airgun one is selling for $199

Just like they sold zillions of their joystick rest. I see lots of them in the equipment lists. Still comes back to "you get what you pay for" or "buy once cry once". Just my opinion, remember, I am allowed to have one even if it's wrong!

Agreed. Someone has a product that does the required job, is simple and cost efficient, and it gets a "poor quality" rating.

Hopefully this turns out to be a quality product. The issues people report with their LabRadar's is what keeps me from buying one, not the price. I find the basic MagnetoSpeed to work great, but I understand its shortcomings as well.
