100% agree.
Also don't need to pay for quality that I won't use.
For me, a good example is a Mercedes vs a Ford. [I would use the Cadillac vs Ford example but I don't think there is any difference between a Cadillac and a Ford or Chevy except the Cadillac costs more and has more problems because they like to rapidly introduce 'technology' for the sake of being 'leading edge']
Nope made in the Maritimes I believe. Canada's East Coast.China. Where almost everything is made now a days.
No, further west...alberta (oil and cow country)Nope made in the Maritimes I believe. Canada's East Coast.
Nope I'm from Alberta. Right off the website, I was wrong saying the Maritimes, but a touch west.
Labradar is a product of Infinition, Inc, Trois-Rivieres, Quebec Canada.
Somebody jumped to a conclusion. I was referring to the Caldwell radar chronograph probably made in China. In another post, I did state that LabRadar is made in Canada.Nope made in the Maritimes I believe. Canada's East Coast.
I go through this every 6 months except they have to put me under. Much larger scope, between 5-6 mm.Soooo...you think ya got a good one there! Regrettably, since last April, I have to go into my urologist office once per quarter for a cystectomy up the urther, to get a look at the inside of my bladder. Not pleasant, but here is how the first episode went down. I'm sitting there in all my glory while the urologist breaks out his instrument. I can't believe it, appearance is identical as my Hawkeye (except his has a straight eye-piece, and rubberized shaft). Shortly, the discomfort is over, and I remark, "That looks just like the Hawkeye that I use to examine my rifle barrels!" Urologist responds, "What did you pay for your Hawkeye?" Hoping to impress him, I reply, "$1,100.00." He retorts, "Mine costs $35,000." To which I reply, "May I borrow it sometime?!" He just looks away.

After my Labradar came apart internally and worked intermittently before that, I will likely give the Caldwell version a run on a few new barrels which have just arrived. If it works for as long as my Labradar, more reliably, for a lot less cost then I will be happy.Let's wait and see until it comes out. Then we can compare it to other competitors. Who knows, it may the latest and the greatest for the fraction of the cost. I don't think we know what the price point will be and how it will perform. Just my cent and half.
I own a Teslong also. If the chinses had spent another $3.00 on a Light adjustment control knob. They would of put hawkeye totally out of business. Just my assessment from using them. The savings, I used on my V3ATNot at all but its just like hawkeye losing 98% of their gun business over a $50 chinese borescope. Nobody buys quality they buy on price
I love my LabRadar too. I haven't ran into a problem yet that I can't fix in Excel. AS far as a learning curve, get ready, I'm still learning a few new tricks with it.Really like my lab, no issues so far. Knock on hard wood
Not sure what you mean about the battery pack. I ordered my LabRadar years ago from Bruno's and bought a rechargeable external battery/cable from them as part of the complete setup. I'm still using it. No, the external battery I purchased wasn't manufactured by "LabRadar", but there are literally dozens of manufacturers that make rechargeable external batteries under $20.00 that will work with the unit. Maybe LabRadar didn't feel the need to re-invent the wheel at the time. I've never once used internal non-rechargeable batteries with mine. FWIW - LabRadar now sells a 10,000 mAh rechargeable battery with their name on it, although I have no idea who actually manufactured it:Reviving this. I haven’t had a problem with my LabRadar since using the JKL trigger. However, I don’t like the LR folks lack of taking customer feedback and implementing changes to fix them. Bluetooth with mine drops out easily and I hate operating the LR without the phones APP.
Interested to see what this Velociradar brings, but I do find it odd that we are now almost in July and they have said nothing. No video on its use, not updates at all. They need to learn from the LR mistakes and it looks like they have with an internal rechargeable battery pack among a few other things.
The LR not coming with an internal or external rechargeable battery pack is probably LR dumbest design decision; just a bunch of AA batteries.
Well aware of that they sell those battery packs, but they do not come with them as a standard. It should 100% come standard with an internal or external rechargeable battery pack. USB Rechargeable Battery Pack (U.S. & Canada Only)
THIS BATTERY CAN ONLY BE SHIPPED TO U.S. AND CANADA ADDRESSES. A rechargeable USB battery bank is the perfect solution to power LabRadar. Preemptive information before assumption would be great.I don't know I don't have one.
The problem with the unit having an internal battery pack is that it they only have so many charge cycles to its useful life.Well aware of that they sell those battery packs, but they do not come with them as a standard. Really, you shouldn’t have to spend another $100 for accessories for it, battery, case, stand, and an inertial trigger to use it.
I have both the Magnetospeed and LabRadar and used the Magnetospeed for 3.5 and could use it right out of the box. You can’t use the LabRadar right out of the box unfortunately without accessories they sell to you afterwards or in the after market.
If Caldwells radar works reliably and accurately out of the box, without having to buy extra accessories, it will sell well. It’s suppose to operate at 60 Hertz which is rather confusing choice, but we shall see.
