I bought a used Jewell that didn’t feel quite right. A soaking with lighter fluid and a blast of air only made things worse. I removed the safety lever then side cover, parts did NOT go flying, and found some gummy crap inside. Cleaned thoroughly, reassembled, and it seems to cycle correctly with no stickiness. It looked like someone had been inside before me, as there were several buggered screw heads. I called Jewell to get more screws and a set of springs. All the guy took was my name and address, simply said he would get things sent my way. I may be billed, but that’s ok. The important part was that they stood behind their product with no questions asked.Just anther datum for the thread: I had a Jewell fail-to-fire at a match after about 3000 rounds. It felt like something inside broke. I had to forfeit the match, then when I got home, I took it apart expecting to see broken metal, but just some grit and oily substance (probably cleaning fluid and bolt oil from the dozens of f-class matches it had seen).

I cleaned it up, reassembled/adjusted per Jewell and it worked fine for another 2000 rounds or so at which point I got another FTF at a match. This time I finished with a spare Timney that I now keep in my bag. The cause of this failure was that the pull-weight set screw came out. I later found the set screw and spring in my rifle case, so put it back with a little thread-locker this time. We'll see how long that lasts (it has outlasted 3 barrels).
Overall, I'd consider the Jewell to have performed well. It was my fault that I didn't keep it free of debris, and partially my fault for not checking the set screw (partially Jewell's fault for it losing its interference fit).
Kind of reminds me of the nightforce pile ons they get on the hideI have a bad feeling in my gut about why this thread was started. I’m going to listen to the gut feeling and quit posting, seems like we’re on shaky ground.
Per esperienza, almeno so che funzionano.
PS: No, non ho lasciato cadere il Jewell![]()

I tell ya what is sad I have 4 of the current BR triggers in the mail as we speak and my customer read this bullshit on here and instructed me to cancel his order so I’m right there with @butchlambert on this post.Heck yes! When you don't know what you are doing adjusting a trigger, things go South in a hurry.
Yes, things can go wrong with any product...it's how the mfg addresses the issue that's the key.I tell ya what is sad I have 4 of the current BR triggers in the mail as we speak and my customer read this bullshit on here and instructed me to cancel his order so I’m right there with @butchlambert on this post.
That “pinching” was my first thought. It happened on my first Jewell install, years ago. I was moving too fast and not being careful, just banging away on the rear pin. I fixed it and it still runs flawlessly. I have 6 or seven Jewells on various guns and they all work perfectly. I bought the last one just this past summer for my custom 6.5x55 project. It works perfectly!Wow....
I still use new Jewell triggers. Some are very good others need a little work to get them to their potential. Not unlike most things. One of the most common mistakes made when installing a Jewell is that when you install the rear pin if its a tight fit it will cause the side plate to pinch the top lever. After install, from the top with a small punch tap each side plate out to spread them. Nothing is immune for user error, which this may or may not be, but doesnt seem like the op actually wants to know what the issue is. Might not fit the narrative of this thread.
Sorry but I have to say it your customer is an idiotI tell ya what is sad I have 4 of the current BR triggers in the mail as we speak and my customer read this bullshit on here and instructed me to cancel his order so I’m right there with @butchlambert on this post.
