Interesting mock trial study on use of an AR15 for home defense

I loved the..."I'm too pretty for prison" remark!

Here's another test. Lacking of many choices. Another reason to test yourself.

I guess this test is only concerned with interior walls? I get that being a big concern if there are kids or family members in other rooms of the house. But for me, that's of no concern, my kids no longer live with me. I'm only concerned with exterior walls and chose my bullet accordingly.

I think the important thing here is, choose a bullet and test it based on your own circumstances. If you are concerned with interior walls, I still say a Vmax bullet is a good choice. If you are only concerned with exterior walls, you can step up to a bullet with better penetration, like a subsonic hollowpoint. There isn't one answer for everyone's situation.

I mentioned in a prior post that I believe that in order to provide adequate penetration to stop an attacker the ammo you use is probably going to penetrate interior walls easily. Think of a shot facing someones side. An arm, bone, ribcage must all be penetrated to reach vital organs. Per Paul Harrels testing, clothing type can have quite an effect on bullet penetration.
The build of an attacker, angle to you, clothing, motivation, experience, chemical enhancement, etc all are uncontrollable variable. Being reactionary sucks.

The answer isnt an easy one if you have kids, or live anywhere but a single family home.

Yep, I think we agree a lot on this subject overall. And yes, I thought that too, about that video and why not show pics of the exit hole sides, too? Still, decent video but pretty limited in more ways than one.

We may be the first state where you see otherwise law abiding citizens dragged off to the penitentiary for possessing something that is legal in every other state. jd

Oregon is riding California's coattails in this regard. Add in Alameda County's DA who seems to value criminals more than law abiding citizens, and...

Though I will say Oregon's 20 rounds per month thing was a little over the top.
