IBS Long Range Rulebook

GSXR Get over what I agree with you! Nothing wrong with the new Model, I had one of the first ones in my hands all i'm saying is that one would not have passed.
What discipline do you shoot.

Joe Salt

The 3 piece bag has never been legal in short range. Thats why mike ratigan sells his model with features more suited to short range br benchrest

Nor was it in IBS-LR until late (still isn't by Williamport rules). But the SEB with a 1-piece bag are and always have been as long as the bag and clearance meet specification requirements.

You're welcome, Jim. When you tighten the tension screw, the side plate assembly pivots on the top portion , thereby moving the bottom of the plate/bag toward the bottom of the stock. Much like a windshield wiper would work if you attached it at the top of the windshield rather than the bottom. The old traditional style side plate pivots at the bottom and forces the top of the plate against the mid to top portion of the bag. If you realized how it works, you would at the very least admit you are wrong. Then again, maybe you wouldn't!

Other than the much appreciated adjustabiliy for stock width, what possible unfair advantage does the 3 piece single bag design offer over a one piece single bag? Looking at it honestly and realistically, you gain no unfair advantage. It's called well designed modern technology. What comes next? Disallowing the Bix & Andy trigger due to it's modern design? Personally, I believe it's more a matter of jealousy/refusal to accept better designed equipment.

I'm not saying in the slightest that to disallow it ….. i have owned two of them and worked on more than that and sir i am not wrong on where the tension pushes and you are right all rest top will do the same will do the same thing trap and The neo is one of easiest to fix. Most buy something and think it is legal and will work and this is not so. As Donovan mentioned at Williamsport the rules clearly state they are illegal, but last year they let them shoot anyway. It is no big deal, take the wording out of the rules. When Farley came out they were illegal, no rule change and those who used them had to make them legal. Just like a 17 lb. 2 oz. light gun you make it legal or DQ. right? jim

The thin metal plate you are talking about is the same as it has always been, it will just bow in the middle. i used a wedge behind it to make better and lowering the hole is the best…… no big deal though…. jim

GSXR, please accept My Thanks for defending me / my rest, very much appreciated SIR!
I don't know you personally but I know that I have a very good friend here in my heart.
Please do not waste your time and energy on this matter, my friend. You don't have to, and it does not important at all now! Please let people judge all the things by themselves.
I am done with this thread, feel disappointed, and honestly surprised with the character of a few people here. However I do believe that good thing will always shine and sound in the end.
Hope to meet with you someday!
Or you come to the World Open?
Sincerely,
seb.

You know i don't see the big deal about making something legal. I had to on a Sinclair rest. Most just turn a blind eye to cheating and not abiding by the rules, like those that weigh their gun with a different bolt to make weight. All you can ask is for a level playing field, to some it's not getting caught. … jim

I just want to point out that looks can be deceiving when it comes to trapping a stock. My old set up looked like it had to be trapping the stock and was evidently on a list at a 600 national event a few years ago due to the way my set up looked. It was OK if anyone would have tried to protest but sure didn't look like it. People might want to keep this in mind before making assumptions. That is all. I'm gonna tune my stuff up and get after it here in about 2-3 months.

Stan he is not going to reveal his true identity, We will know who he is in July. He couldn't stand it, if he didn't get to meet Seb. This may be one of the biggest shoots we have ever had with Seb there.

Why would he not let us know if he is an active member of the Ibs.
