Pat,

We had 14 shooters show up for our first match of the season. As you can see in the picture, the sod made it a little more challenging for some. Me included. It will get better.

You gonna shoot the IBS matches?
Thanks Alex for the reminder. Without question, all the f-class shooters are more than welcome to shoot the IBS matches. The same great rigs you guys shoot are perfect for the bench game. I use the same rests and bags for both F-Class and bench. Great chance to tighten up your groups testing them under match conditions at 600 yards. Can only help your f-class scores. Next match is on Dec 23rd. Hope to see a few of you guys out.

F-Classers. Forgot to mention the major differences between NRA F-Class and the IBS equipment.

2 classes. Light gun 17# and under, the Heavy Gun all over 17#. Also a 1/2" maximum contact between the sides of the fore end and the front bag. Muzzle breaks are allowed.

The 2 issues we usually see are the weight limit. Most f-class rigs are over 17# and must shoot in Heavy gun only. You could shoot in Light gun, but your scores would not count. The 1/2" contact rule is sometimes misunderstood, but we are holding to that rule. I will have 1/2" strips that can be tapped to your fore-end to meet the rule. Any other questions, please PM me. Or go here: http://internationalbenchrest.com/downloads/Rulebooks.php Look under long range rule book.

The 1/2" rule has always been a topic. Any good BR stocks take this into account so you dont have to think about it. A cheap and easy way to meet the rule is to order a front bag from protektor that has 1/2" tall ears. They are like $35.

Plan on taking some Saturday. Personally have not fired a practice shot since last month. Personal issues keeping my time attending to family issues. The BRA has only been shot 4 times in the back yard. All set up but not going anywhere for a while.

Without some practice just using one of my old rifles and participating. That will give me the incentive to pay more attention to the event than my actual shooting. Should be a fun day this Saturday with lots of different participation.

Hey Larry, good to have you back. Just come out and have some fun. You deserve it.

Match results: Manatee 600 yard IBS Match, 12/23/17.

Great match, great turnout, great weather. Mild conditions, 80 and partly cloudy for a Dec. 23rd match. Only 3 more matches to go, so those who may be procrastinating better get loading.

I will post a longer description of the match and post photos, when I stop eating the cookies and drinking eggnog;)

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

@BT1

Thanks Steve and your crew, for the results.... !.!.!
and for the great pictures Larry/ @CaptainMal posted on the other thread.

Not looking like I can make it down this winter (would like to), but will try to next winter/season.
80-degree temps are sounding real good (single digit stuff up here).

I would like to thank you both for the great job you have done putting together all the IBS matches. Even though some of us have to drive more than 2 hours to get to the matches we always look forward to going there, helping out and having a great time with a bunch of great guys. I want you to know that we really appreciate your hard work and we look forward to many more matches to come. I want to wish everyone and there families a Happy Holiday season.
May god bless all of us.
