And an unforegetable one by my deceased friend, MSG Frank Barnes, while shooting at the ORSA range at Oak Ridge, TN...goes like this: Deer (or turkeys) come out of the woods down range while record fire is going on, calmly foraging for food. Someone excitedly yells, "DEER, DEER DOWN RANGE!!", as if shooters would shoot at the deer and a cease fire should be called. Frank would yell back, "DON'T WORRY ABOUT IT...NO ONE WANTS TO LOOSE 10 POINTS".

One that I use a lot when operating a target in the pits, and all the other pullers around me are sitting down with their shooter finished, and I'm still waiting and waiting for my s-l-o-w shooter's next shots to come down; is to loudly yell down to the pit boss, "RELAY TO THE LINE...SPEED UP THE SHOOTER ON TARGET 12." I actually hear that call made back to the line on occasion!!

Talking about a piece of brass that sized .004 shorter than the rest and was marked with a sharpie and shot as a fouler so it could be sized again and see if it would size right and therefore become a good piece of brass.

Back in 2000, I was shooting the PACFLT service rifle team match. In the end we had the most X's, but we lost by 1 point.
My Senior Chief looked at me and said, 2nd place huh. Do you know what 2nd place is? Before I could reply he said. First loser!

A couple of us were shooting at a local public 100 yard range. After shooting several rounds I took out my rangefinder to check the target distance and found the target fence to be a several yards short of 100 yards. I asked the range master about this and he said as a result of work done to increase the size of the berm they had to move the target fence a few yards but they still called it a 100 yard range. Then he said "we were wondering if anyone would ever notice this".
