Firearm thefts....

I worked in a shop where the owner was a WW II buff. The bollards looked like tank traps on Normandy. He got robbed a number of times, but they were on foot.

Locking the doors of a LGS is all that is required.. On a side note how many of you all keep an inventory of all your firearms? I keep a current list on my phone, computer on an email.

An LGS in Reno had a stolen 4WD with a large winch/bumper in front go through the front doors 12-15 years ago. They had the iron gating inside, but that was only anchored with 3/8" or 1/2" bolts into the concrete floor, they sheared easily.

Everybody went to the concrete barriers they use in road construction projects at the front doors after that.

I've heard of smash and grabs at WalMarts where the glass gun case is only 50' from the rear wall of the store and an emergency exit.

They have been doing it here when the shops are closed. Usually 1 or 2am.... The local PD know it is a gang that specializes in this type of robbery but have yet to make any arrests.... I'm sure Cabelas has rules about robberies and would refrain from engaging. The LGS guys on the other hand wouldn't hesitate smoke checking your a** in a robbery.... Most of the shops I go to are family owned and operated....
Thats the way it happened recently in my area. A shop got hit at night after they were closed. i guess a shop isnt required to put all firearms in a secure area. I had rhought they were

We had 5 or more hit in our area . Drive in the door . Or pull the door off with a chain.

I hope that they catch these guys without incident. I hate to think of good people having to risk they're lifes dealing with terrible people.
I wonder what it would cost to install a sprayer system to spray the floors with that military snot stuff that's so slick you can't even walk on it.
Police show up to get these thugs trying to run in place. That would make a good video.

One or two of the robbers usually have a gun trained on the employees. It happens fast. No "employee" making $12 an hour is gonna draw to protect the insured inventory with a gun pointed at him.

I'm not an employee, and I'd be HAPPY to draw!! Just sayin!!

Every Cabelas I have ever been in has at least 15 employee's. It would take more than "one or two robbers" to cover that many!!

Or a giant OC canister grenade...just fill the room and then follow the snot rope to your badguy

Hard to believe with additional cop drive by activity and it happens again.

Seems that management needs to seriously re think their policies in regards to safe firearms storage. You would think that having your sister store get hit just weeks before you would change your firearms storage protocol and put them away or locked up. And if that option isn't available then they should take the steps to make it available.

That takes man-hours, along with the potential damage to the firearms.
