I believe there is already a major problem which is a "disaster" to many in the form of lost jobs in the energy sector, high inflation affecting all but the wealthy, and less money for our defense needs. The government plan is simple.I've long thought that there shouldn't be any subsidies (rebates, whatever), meddling. There should be a voluntary industry association, to come up with simple stuff like plug standards. The electrical aspects should simply conform to reasonable safety standards for such gear and charging. And, IF it turns out the overall economics works sufficiently well to attract buyers because it's a better "mousetrap," then good for them.
But, pushing such things before they've been ironed out ... Well, I don't necessarily see disaster, but there are too many things dangling that could easily leave people holding a very big, very expensive "bag."
Tax all of us to reward the politically connected, woke supporters, and buy votes. Working for them so far.
