Electric Cars -- anyone own one?

I kinda understand Jackie's reasoning for an electric car for what he needs it for. I drive 60-100 miles per day. I could see a use for it if the initial cost was reasonable. I need to ask a young friend about the cost of a home charging system as that is his job. I like the performance and high mileage that a Prius has. I have one sitting at my shop with some type battery problem. Heard you don't have to replace the whole battery on those.
Butch, the charger I got, called aJuice Box, is hooked to a simple 220 50 amp circuit. I installed it myself.

I am glad you see my point in getting a EV. Everybody can breathe easy, even if I had any hair, it wouldn’t be in a man bun, and occasionall I do wear what some might call a Fanny Pack. It has a model 19 Smith & Wesson in it.0921B210-D5ED-4AD7-AEC9-B5BDF5345769.jpeg

Thinking some of the NEW Prius cars are "plug in"??
Check your info.
Didn't know batteries or individual cells for EVs were available on Ebay and at big $$$$ prices like mentioned, don't think my Debit Card would handle it.

Did chevy not give you a free level2 charger? They did for every one ive heard about. My last house still has mine in the garage over across town

Havn't seen anyone come up with the price of a "replacement battery" for a Tesla. (not a hybrid)

Any idea how long it takes to get a full charge?

They say 8 hours if it is dead. I plan on charging at night, go to work, use the 120 volt cord that comes with the car to top it off while I am at the Shop, head home After work.

I figure I could just get away with the overnight charge, but all I have to do is plug it in.

My younger brother has a little Fiat EV, he commutes around 40 miles each day, half what I do.

Hey Dusty. Chevy will pay to have charger installed. You have to buy the charger. From what I understand, Ford furnishes and installs a 40 amp charger.

They must have stopped all that then (chevy). My volt came with a very nice charger and my company paid an electrical contractor to install it with my credit card. They have the same charger in my local chevy dealer’s showroom. It says volt on it with a chevy bowtie and pretty blue lights and numbers

Well, I just drove my new Chevy Bolt EUV home. It’s loaded to the hilt, drives really nice.

I have each end of the Automotive Spectrum covered. My ‘67 Malibu with the 540 (my avatar picture), gets about 5 miles to the gallon, this bolt is the equivalent of getting about 120.

So I can destroy the Planet or Save the Planet, depending on which one I want to drive.A0ECA0FD-F854-43F0-9F0B-0F3C58BADE13.jpegFB2A7A05-D1AF-4DB3-BBBE-10FAA8AA84F7.jpeg
