I was visiting an East Tennessee Nissan dealer last week, got there around 1:00 and there was a black SUV type vehicle at the charging post with California plates. I had to leave for a doctor appointment, came back to check out the used truck I was interested in and they were still charging. I left around 4:40 and yep, still charging. I figure with a 250-300 miles range they probably left California in March to get to east Tennessee by late August.

But, but, but, there's that New Math thing.
What's the old saying? You pays me now or you pays me later?
And just heard, the Russians have cut off the Nuclear power plant in the Ukraine. The LARGEST power plant in Europe?:oops: Them that holds the purse strings....
And then you wonder, would Putin have pulled that crap in TRUMP was still holding down the fort???:rolleyes:

I think that planet earth has always been, and will remain, “Green” regardless of human actions. Humankind is but a “pimple on the ass” of this planet. We haven’t been here long, and will likely experience an extinction event like all the other life forms that preceded us.

The entire planet is, and always will be, solar powered (until the sun dies anyway). That solar power drives photosynthesis and the decay of carbon life forms that decompose into oil, gas, and coal. We gladly reap the energy benefits by mining/extracting these solar created resources then release some carbon back into the environment to feed the aforementioned photosynthesis process. What’s not “Green” about that?

Let’s hope the Tesla’s “Support” payments help cover the bill!;)
What was the cost of this vehicle at purchase? Without this “repair”, it is now a paperweight that no one will touch in the used car business, or accept as a trade-in.
Mine cost 40 something back in 2015 or 2016

think about it..

example

70K miles assume 12K miles per year is 5.8 years
$70 to fill my truck x 52 weeks is $3640 annual gas cost x 5.8 years is $21112

If you're going to do a battery cost vs gas cost, you need to include electricity rates. And don't forget to factor in the significantly higher insurance costs and installiation cost for your 240v home outlet, it's often a few thousand.

Total cost of ownership also includes the charging electricity, and in the case of hybrids like the Volt, gasoline!

This should help the rolling brown outs, if the bill includes building a nuclear power plant !

I wonder what the "core" charge is for 1 of those batteries and what/where will they be deposited (landfill) ?
