Electric Cars -- anyone own one?

seen this the other day. Im not an EV but it survived.

Thx. I've seen that too. The packs are fully sealed, at least Tesla ones are. It's great, until it isn't sealed. There are sensors in the battery packs to detect moisture too. I suspect that's handy if the suspect a car has been flooded, and not just for safety reasons, but to deny your warranty claim.

There are loads of videos of Teslas going through deep flooded roads too. I wouldn't do it.

When the fire department needs special foam for EV car accidents, I'm going to take that as a hint to be extra cautious around EVs and high water.

Was it a rivian? They are out there
Don't think so but it was there and gone so fast I couldn't be real sure.
Didn't seem to have the rounded body like most truck bodies. More pointed. And the front end looked different. Didn't remember seeing anything that looked like headlights.

I seem to remember Mythbusters I think trying to see how deep they could go in a tesla before it quit. I think it was once the water got up into the 12v battery system and other electronics.

I wouldn't do it either I don't like batteries near water and I know electronics and water don't mix and salt water makes it even worse.

Rolling blackouts the new normal in California and other "environmental woke" locations, rolling blackouts are the result of an over burdened grid. Just wait until ev numbers 25% of daily drive numbers. California shuttering nuclear electric production, and pushing "renewables" because of the "success of an April 4 second long test". Good luck, especially with sidewalk tents covering up charging stations. Control the fuel + control the food = control of the citizens.

I've said this over and over again. The three major root causes of bad public policy are ignorance, stupidity and evil intent. What you articulate is the evil intent contained in the soul of all leftist politicians. They know full well what the goal of their public policy is, control. Although it must be said that some of them are stupid as well.
