Does Anyone use Airguns on this Forum?

In on Airgun Crew

I shoot my Benjamin PCP more than all of my other guns combined x2.

Great way to stay on the trigger
Copy.
I just sold a .22 Marauder with the LW barrel (sigh), and I still have my first PCP, another Marauder, which is up for sale on another forum. I tested it quickly today for close-range accuracy at about 78 feet (from inside my basement to almost the further distance I can shoot safely because there's a big tree for a backstop), and I shot two groups from a modestly stable position that were about a 1/4 inch to a wee bit more; the first was with the Crosman 14.3 grains and the second was with the JSB 18.13 grains. I know the gun can do better with a really stable rest and a lighter trigger. A better shooter would not hurt, either. It is just an out-of-the-box Marauder with the Crosman barrel and it shoots very nicely. I may be happier if it does not sell. :)

I too have the Benjamin Marauder .22Cal with the LW barrel. I got the regulated so I get a pretty consistent 850 across close to sixty (60) shots. Reality though, I tend to pump it up once i get to about 2,000psi. Pumping from anything lower is just too much effort :)

I love this thing! Many a Squirrel and Chipmunk have been on the receiving end of this thing out to 50yds in my back yard. If I miss, I miss, not the rifle! So I only have myself to blame.

This is your answer and you'll shoot it WAY more after having this!!

I'm calling Zasadny this week to get him to do my 2002
Have him install the Steyr valve now. The Anschutz valve seals are NLA and once you have the gun going at or above 12 ft-lb, the aged polymer does crack apart. He can machine and fit a Steyr high power valve.

One thing worth mentioning my zm2002 is kind of heavy and while it’s not muzzle heavy I prefer the weight to be closer to the back of the rifle. If you don’t like that he might be able to adjust the shroud and cylinder to balance differently.

Also the 2002 receiver block is cast aluminum and very narrow at the loading port, making it both susceptible to damage and also prone to misalignment between the sections of scope rail that straddle the loading port. He can build a unitized picatinny rail that rigidizes and protects the receiver. We can thank UPS for providing that lesson.

Greetings, TSFG.

Nice. Right. The gun is more accurate than I am.

I had the .22 with the LW barrel for too short a time to test it properly. The guy I bought it from said it was the most accurate gun he ever owned, and that he got half-inch groups at fifty meters. If he did, that’s strong.

I bought a Crown and needed the cash, so it had to go. Hence my ‘sigh.’

Copy. Pumping is a workout. I hand pumped for about two years with the Marauder. I pumped once or twice to 3625 psi for my Crown, and it was really a workout. I have not hand pumped since I got my little compressor. It is the GX CS2. I should have gotten the CS3, as it is much more ergonomic where it counts. I just looked, and the CS4 is now out.

If you care, I did do some research on budget pumps a while ago, and I think the CS3 would be a happy choice, especially for the money. If I could sell my CS2–which is working flawlessly, by the way—I would spend a little more and get the CS3. But it costs too much to ship the pump I have, so we shall see.
I am not sure what improvements the CS4 have made, but it is significantly more money. Again, perhaps you are interested. It is on a wee sale on Amazon right now. Here is the link for your convenience, just in case. (No, I am not connected to Amazon and don’t make any money!)

Take care.

Edit: I would now cautiously recommend the GX-cs3 I, as it has one design improvement. But I am presently doing more research, hence the word "cautiously." S7

If you would like to get a PCP for a reasonable amount, check out the new Crosman 3622. Pyramyd Air has them with a Crosman PCP pump for $239. Comes with a plastic breech. (iron sights only) For an additional $35, Pyramyd will install a steel breech if you want to install optics. The rifle uses a 2000 PSI fill pressure, so filling with the hand pump is much easier than going to 3000 PSI or more. Gets 25 shots per fill. About 700 fps with 14 grain lead pellets. It should be fairly easy to up the power level if you need more "thump". I just ordered one to play with.

I think I get the point: Do not use ‘your turn’ because it is common and ambiguous?
Funny, I never used it on a forum yet.

Is that possible? Hahaha

A few. The eight one from the left either has a big shroud, or is a large caliber?

The one you are referring to is an Air Gun Technology (AGT) Vulcan 3 Long. .25 caliber. It has a shroud with a moderator screwed on. I mostly shoot slugs in it.

Thanks for the clarification, tm. While here, .25 is a nice caliber. They are all ‘nice’ calibers, and each has their place, but .25s are a nice mid-power option. Now with slugs—which I have learned a bit about but not yet used—perhaps the .22 offers more versatility? S7

Do you mind sharing your favorite low price, mid price and high price?
If I had to pick 3 to keep, it would be the following.
Low price-Weihrauch HW-30. Around $300. Low power, accurate and a child can cock it.
Mid price-Weinrauch HW-97K. Around $700. Quality built and super accurate.
Higher price-Weihrauch HW-100 PCP. Around $1400.

As you can see from my favorites, I like Weihrauch’s but I also own Air Arms and Diana’s.

Thank you very much. Was thinking about a PCP but that money went on a Cooper 221 FB. Might wait a month or so and check out the HW-97. Thanks again!
