Does your MTR prefer a particular brand of ammo..?

It's not a matter of brand as much as lot (or batch) of ammo. Match ammo is made in batches called lots and different lots of the same variety of ammo may shoot differently. The shooter must test them to find the best.

Although it's not a guarantee, generally speaking the odds of obtaining good accuracy performance increase with the cost of the ammo. Again, it's not a guarantee.

To begin, try entry level match ammos from SK or Eley or RWS. They are reasonably affordable.

cz only makes a few models of their 457 rifles with mtr or Match target rifle chambers. Their web site at cz-usa will Identify them. Not sure what they offer across the pond.

Generally i go for the more expensive ammo..
Yes I know about the lot thing..
Some dealers don't like splitting the 500 pack so sometimes you get unlucky sometimes you get lucky..
When you've got around to testing them and find a really good lot..
You contact the dealer and it's all been sold..
I'll have a surf and see what brand of ammo they made the match chamber around..

I've done a bit of a search and it seems the match chamber isn't nessasarily going to make it anymore accurate and the LRP shoots the ammo louder..
I'm beginning to think I should of done some research before I bought in..!!
Oh well I'll have to make it work now.

I tested my CZ 452 varmint and the CZ457 LRP side by side on the Garmin chrony..
The LRP is launching Eley match,R50,Rws long-range 50fps plus faster than the 452 varmint at over 1100fps. Lowest velocity in the LRP was 1099fps
Lapua center x was the only brand that stayed subsonic in the LRP fastest shot was 1080fps..
The 452 shot them in the low 1000fps one I think was 998fps.
If the Centre X ammo shoot around 1060fps in the LRP I could live with that..
It groups nice at 50yds but had the worst ES/SD weirdly enough.
Group is centre x.
5 shots at 50yds prone..

In your case your ammo's velocity is not relevant to how accurately it shoots.

Chrony numbers aren't necessarily consistent with ammo performance.

Do you suspect that the velocity from the LRP is due to the engraving of the bullets?

The LRP having the match barrel is probably creating more chamber pressure resulting in increased velocity. A.match barrel requires seating the bullet into the rifling where as the standard 22 barrel will have some freebore.

Chamber dimension length is more a larger part on how much the bullet will engrave. all my match barrels have chambers with 0.030-0.040 bullet engraving and they are shooters.
bullet diameter may be what cause higher pressure/velocities

My CZ452 varmint doesn't engrave the rifling

When I get 5 mins I'll post the chrony readings..
50fps is alot seeing the barrels are the same length..!!!
It proves the Garmin is doing its job

The short shot strings shown are more likely to show unreliable results. Random and unexpectedly high or low MVs or randomly consistent ones can easily skew small samples.

Different MVs for the same ammo in different barrels -- even barrels of the same length by the same manufacturer -- are not surprising.

I'm not sure if they have the same lube on them but the average mv on R50,eley match and rws long-range was 1105fps,1106fps and 1107fps not nessasarily in that order.

My main concern is finding more accurate centre x ammo that's quiet
