How many "lots" does an ammo manufacturer make in a day, a week, or a month~? If you find a "lot" that performs particularly well in your rifle, how would you go about finding and purchasing more of the same "lot"~?

If you are shooting Lapua send the rifle for testing at the Lapua test center. Eley - the same solution.

I had a plink Sunday with this batch of eley match that shot poorly..

I've probaly fired 50 x 5 shot groups with it using it up..
Well Sunday the groups shrank alot..
Still not brilliant but better..
I'm wondering if the temperature/conditions warming up has made the difference..

Testing Eley this winter in 30-45F temps showed some lots had significant ftf issues. Three or more ftf per box. Most of those fired fine on the second try but some did not. One round of Tenex took six hits at different locations on the rim to finally fire.

Any lots with rounds of marginal ignition would certainly affect accuracy.

On a related note maybe this is one of the major differences between regular match and biathlon grade 22LR.

I had alot of eley match that took 2 or 3 times before it fired through the winter..!!
One wouldn't fire after 5 or 6 attempts.
Alot of crackers too
